Squeaky American teens chanting "USA! USA! USA! USA!" is pissing me off.
I am not ashamed to confess that I am ignorant of what I do not know.

Something about golf as a team sport doesn't turn me on.

Golf team matches are a tabulation of essentially the same individual skills sequentially achieved and subsequently combined.  True team sports like football simultaneously achieve and instantly combine different individual skills.

Huh?  Wha'd he say?  Close enough.

Maybe the Ryder Cup would be more interesting if it also had an individual champion, the way Olympic team sports also include the decathlon and numerous individual events as well as team/national totals.  I certainly think whoever does best in the Ryder Cup ought to be credited with an individual major win.

Great thing about sports is there is a competition somewhere that is perfect for anybody's druthers.
