Saitek Pedals and Views
« on: October 06, 2006, 04:22:34 PM »
I just got the Saitek Rudder pedals and installed them.  (They seem to be working great so far.  I like the wider distance between the feet than my old CH pedals.)
Anyway, after intalliing them and flying with them, I noticed that my views are all messed up.  When I look directly behind me, I'm looking directly into the headrest, and am unable to adjust the view to either side, or forward or backwards.  It's like I've got my nose pressed into the headrest.
anybody know why this would be?  Is there some setting I can adjust so I have some adjustment capabilities in the view?
Thanks,
John

Unfortunatly, i dont have an idea what *caused* this either. But here goes what i would try.

Remove the pedals, launch the game and see if you still have that problem.

If yes, backup your settings folder, then delete it and try again, without and then with the pedals.

If that works, copy the settings files back in one by one.

My guess would be that its some corrupt settings file. If not, then im afraid im running out of ideas here.

Are your saved views not working, or you can't adjust your view when looking back?

To adjust your view when looking back, try using the keyboard, and not the joystick.  You should be able to save the view when holding the view from the keyboard.  For some reason, if I try to move my head positon when holding a view with my joystick hat, the views get messed up.  I am not sure why this is, but it works for me.

Schatzi:  yes, I've deleted the settings folder and all that a couple of times - still the same problem.
I haven't tried removing the pedals yet .  . .  that would suck if I had to do that to get my views to work.

Gunner:  Yes, I always use the keyboard to make my view adjustments.

I thnk I'm gonna uninstall and re-install the game and see if that helps.  Probably one little file I'd never ever find that got messed up . . . .
