Please Help with my New X52

Sometimes its hard to tell exactly what's going on from a post...but here's how I'd approach your situation. Also...if you want, I'd be happy to email you my X52 profile.

Some guys dont like the SST, and do everything through AH's setup. That can work, but its not how I did it -- so I'm not sure how much can be done that way. I like the SST because it lets me program complex sets of commands to a single button. (For example, I have one switch that gives me external view with a quick push, and moves me back to the buff cockpit if I hold it a longer time.)

First, you need to be sure you know what you want to be assigned to what button. I do that by using text labels for macros (even if the "macro" is only one button) in the SST software. Then, you'll need the AH keyboard commands you'll be assigning to the SST actions. Hammer has a nice printable sheet for this here

Now for the fun. Open the SST profile editor. One way is to right click on the throttle icon in the windows toolbar, or you can go through the start menu. Load up the profile you're working on, and make sure that the commands you want on each action have the right keyboard command in the box.

Next, with the new controller system in AH2, there are some keybaord commands that didnt transfer well (For example, the backspace = change weapon command.) Make sure that AH2 has the right keyboard commands, the ones that Hammer's data sheet used.

Now, inside AH, make sure that the non-keyboard assignments are right. Go to controllers/mapping and select the X52. In the window you'll see a bunch of axis descriptions, like X axis, Z rotation, etc. Mess with the controller and watch which axis changes when you move the controller a certain way. Then, when you have the right axis clear, double click on the slot next to the axis name and make the function assignment you want. (For example, Z rotation is the twist function -- so you could make it the rudder.)

Work your way through, and you should be in the clear.
