Playing AH films, crashing to desktop.
« on: August 23, 2001, 08:40:00 AM »
I have recorded some of my games, and watched them fine, enjoyed it great laff.

But i have downloaded some films from assassins page (attempt to learn ACM) Milenkos i think and they crash after just a few seconds to desktop.

Are there conflicts between films that i dont know about?  Is there a way i can see what version of AH the film was recorded in from a readme or something?

Also if i lose my connection in AH, it comes up with error "Host connection lost" but when i click "ok" it boots me to desktop, this normal?

Thanks to anyone who may help or even looked to see if they can help.   :)

Same happens to me!   :)
Rock:  Ya see that Ensign, lighting the cigarette?
Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.

Had the same problems trying to view some ACM training films.
Not only must you have to same version the fil as recorded in, you also have to have the right terrain loaded on you computer.  If you run the film without the terrain in your directory, the system sends you to the desktop.  At least mine did until I downloaded the terrain.  Email the author back and ask for what version and what terrain.  You can probably download the terrains from this site.  As for earleir version, I don't know if there is an answer to that issue.

Good luck!

Cya Up!

The old version film bug has never been found or solved. Got any films from 1.04 days you want to watch? You need 1.04 to watch them. Really sucks cause I had quite a few good films from those days!

Don't forget, if you view a film and you don't have the terrain that the film was created in, you will crash too.

Ok another thing that ive just found with the recorder.

I was in the Torpedo 8 snapshot and recorded my whole flight.  Shot down 2 TBMs took damage and just made it back to the carrier for a good landing (prop strike though).

Went back to watch my recording and it doesnt play right.  I open it up and start playing but I am just sitting in the tower of another country and not in a plane.

Did i record too long?
Do i have to change country or something?
Do i have to restart AH before i can watch a just recorded flight?
Is there a certain way to load up these recordings to make them play right?

ITs a shame because i was pleased with that flight, wanted some good pics of the Zeros in formation too.

Appreciate anyones time with this.
