1-Quit worrying about dying. No one really dies. Feel free to mix it up and see what happens. They give you a brand new plane every time.
2-Fly for the country with low numbers and quit worrying about loyalty to a country. Two examples:
-I was flying in a decent fight two nights ago and the guys on my side were whining about the other team always flying so high, etc etc. The numbers changed so I went to the other side and the same fight to even it out. The guys on that side were whining about the other side flying to high etc etc. Same deal on every side despite people believing it to be different.
-Flew last night in a decent fight and got shot down by a 56th Jug flown by Shevy. Told him nice shot etc. Numbers changed so I switched to the low side, which was Shevy's. He cleared me a couple times and i cleared him. Like almost everyone in the game, just a good person having fun. Hardly the 'enemy'. Even numbers, better fights, better fun for all.
3-It's just a GAME, not war, despite efforts to claim different. Relax, have fun, no one is dying.
4-Quit thinking that you have to have an advantage in every fight, whether it be numbers, plane type etc. This of course brings the 'no one is dying' rule into effect again. It's funny how much better you can get taking on the mob at times, as it works your SA, and your 'flying' ability to the limit and beyond. And since you get a new plane if it doesn't work, who cares right?
5-Remember that 99% of the people in this game are good people. Squad loyalty is fine, but getting to know the folks you fly with and against makes the game that much better. Most are interested in WW2 aviation and flying. How can getting to know em and sharing that interest be a bad thing?
6-Instead of complaining, figure out what you have to offer to the AH community to make it better. This starts with how you present yourself in the game, but certainly can extend well beyond that. Just thinking of the guys I fly with in my squad as examples. Del has been teaching folks how to fly the 38, 1 at a time. Raptor does maps for scenarios and skins. Trieze does skins and website stuff. Phan is the fountain of aircraft photos. Silat is a trainer. I try and help with the skinners and the history stuff. None of it is specific to the 80th, but it all helps with making the game better. At least I'd like to believe it does anyway.
7-Have a bit of faith that HTC and company know what they're doing. To that end, try new things and again, do what you can in the arenas to make it a better place. Us old timers set the tone for the new guys. It has an impact good or bad.
8-Remember this isn't real life, this is a game, meant to be fun. Anytime it gets too serious, it's time to take a break and get your perspective back. There is NOTHING in this game worth getting worked up about. No one is really dying and planes are free.
Stepping off soap box and off to work. You are more then free to feel like I'm completely wrong on this. I'm not really dying and I get a new plane everytime so it just doesn't matter
