hehe...that one was kind of funny lazs:D

as for guppy...lets agree to disagree about what a "griefer" is just as we will continue to disagree about what a "squad " is...

the fact that you have concerned yourself and posted with this position at least 6 different times seems just plain silly.

try to be honest with yourself...if before the changes and before you became aware of the BoPs...did you ever consider wings of terror, hells angels, the maw, the 68th, 475th, the chicken hawks, the vmf, the unforgiven, sick puppies, ltars, 367th, to name a few(thats without pulling up the squad page) to not be squads????

they all have mutliple wings..some of them have more roster members then bops.

so in the world of illusion of AH (where nothing is real and everyone flies the sort of game they want) why in the world do you care and post about it. i guess it is to bother or shame people....hence my counting you among the ranks of "griefers."  sorry if im off the mark here.

and for your goal of bringing "furballers" and "the rest of AH who like doing different things every night" (strat is very limiting as a term..it suggests milkrunning fields)..then return to the the old way with large maps that also had FT and TT.  that was the answer...unfortunately the questions have changed and continue to. it is a shame:(

Falc, while you guys are certainly cast as the stereotypical megasquad (and I agree you're not the only one by any means), do you think the fact that you and some of your squaddies have chosen to be so vocal, and omnipresent in all of these threads has anything to do with it? Do you think that if you guys didn't take such a combative and "**** you guys" kind of attitude, that you'd be singled out in these threads?

Anyway, just saying.

hubs i hear you..and thats why we have taken breaks from the boards..

as you can judge from doing a search and reading my posts...i almost never start an argument...but when a generalization regarding my crew is thrown up i do strongly refute it...and then attention is brought to me..i understand that.

my purpose in naming guppy along with lazs et al (yourself included *cough cough*) is that it has gotten so bad that a guy who has played 4+ years cant post a goodbye message without being told he is an attention grabbing griefer and to shutup and just leave????  why? because there are certain folks who cant stay off a single thread...even to allow a guy who has lost faith in the game just to make a farewell statement to the community he has known for years. i imagine they would like a few "gonna miss you"  "you were awesome" statements so they can smile as they close this chapter.

instead the same 5-6 guys post on every freaking thread...for fun do a search of forums with guppy35 or lazs2. i had to go back 100 threads on each of them before i hit the previous month...do they really think that many people need their input???  btw thats not 100 individual posts...its 100 topics with multiple posts in 25 days. (over 4 pages just to get back one month)

So where is it I've said anything to anyone leaving?  All I said was I was staying in a seperate thread.

If I'm invested in trying to bring the people in the game together, how is this a bad thing?

Again, a greifer is someone trying to ruin the game for other people.  I don't recall ever saying you should play the game my way.  I don't recall insulting you or calling you a name at any point.  That's just silly.

As for when I post.  What do you care?  Again, show me a post where I've taken a shot at someone personally or told them to play the game the way I want them to.  You won't find one.

Ironic that one of your own guys commented to me that he liked that we could have a rational discussion without the insults even though his approach and mine were different.

I'd suggest that you quit worrying about defending yourself and the BoPs so much.

As for other squads.  Yeah I was 475th for a bit and it was a big debate as to whether to add a second squad.  And it was that, a second squad.  It was wrong and it didn't work or last.

You have to remember that it's been your guys in particular harping about not being able to get everyone on the same team in an arena at the same time.  This of course being because you have six squads under the one name?  HTC screwed you guys over because you can't get all your guys in one arena has been the cry.  I don't recall the Unforgiven saying anything or the 367th or any of the other multi-squads.  Remember, I'm not defining squad size, HTC is.  You not liking their definition doesn't change the fact that they set the limit.

Just to add to this one.  Lets be clear on something.  Groups like yours, with that many members have a large impact on the game.  The tone you set at the top affects far more then yourselves.  new folks coming into the game are going to see you guys and how you play and be impacted by it.

I happen to think we as the veteran players have a responsibilty to the game.  So when I say I believe we have to find a way to put the different types of players together to make it better I mean that.  I don't want a divided community where everyone goes to their corner.

It appears your preference is everyone shut up and go back to what was only working for your crew but not for everyone.  FT and TT were bandaids, that only worked in bits and peices cause other folks would openly try and disrupt them.  Greifing as the term appears to be.

So yep, I speak up from my little corner of the world looking for ways to make it work and hoping folks like yourselves might have something productive to add since you do impact the game with your crowd.

The guys getting the ugly send-offs are the ones bemoaning the changes, and that's why, regardless of who they are, they're getting those sendoffs.

For fun, do a search of USRanger, 1boner or Rshubert. I see the same 5 or 6 guys whose views are similar to mine, and I see the same guys from your squad clones posting in many of those threads. If you're the leader of all of them, than you had better learn to like being singled out. If their posts are their ideas and opinions alone, and you don't agree with their tone or content, then stop defending them.

With a few exceptions, you guys are growing tiresome. You're not offering anything but protest, you're attacking other people, and the whole time saying "hey, why are you guys so mean to us?".

Regardless of whether a person leaves and gives his reasons or not, I see no justification for any of the slams they get.

Apart from some irrestible juvenile urge at the satisfaction another player has been driven out.

But then I guess some won't be happy until every non-furballer has been driven away.

All those $15 add up in the long run, dollars that would have gone on game development.

SASKID - "But yet your still here paying your 14.95. It really makes me wonder..."

Thats an easy one - there really isn't another game of this genre that is even remotely on par with AH. If there was you might see people taking the often thrown out advice of "why don't you quit then".
HT knows this and is relying on that fact to hold onto what he has, despite what enforced changes are foisted on us.

It's what's really missing, REAL competition for AH, to keep them on their toes, plus an unwelcome change would really show up in subscriber numbers, really quickly.

once again dan...please find a recent post with a bop complaining about not being able to fly together???  we have adjusted fine...sure its not as easy as it once was...but we work it out...

again...another example of why i lump you in with the others...even your latest post you cant help but delve into the squad number thing:lol   you cant help yourself....and um yes the 367th and unforgiven have both posted about how frustrated they are...search kev367th for 367th and mystic for unforgiven pls.  if you read the bops comments they are mainly targeted at the endless stream of meanness out of lazs and his buds...we had our say after the first arena change...we have decided to work around the limitations in our own way...but yes we still think it was a mistake....sorry dale....

but my worries are not for my squad dan...they are designed just for these times..its other squads that will fall apart...vmf seems about done...maw the same...ive seen 68th put together some nice missions.  but the smaller squads are the ones in truble...when you only average 5 guys on ch and they are split up then the purpose of a squad disappears...we average 20 guys on ch so even split we have 5-10 in any arena and we use squad text to call others over.  also we are gaining new members from squads that are falling apart...i imagine when it is over we will have a bop squad in each arena and combine for squad night.  i think it will be fun:D   btw is it okay with you if we have a squad for each arena???  i guess i better check now so you dont grief about it:lol

Fair enough Falconwing.  We'll agree to disagree about the squad thing.  In the end it doesn't matter I suppose.  As a 'small squad' guy, I think it's still on the squads to make it work.  Some squads just run their course and fade away.  Been there done that in the last 10 years.  Right now the 80th seems to find time to fly together and make it work.

So maybe then the energy should be focused away from the stereotypes of furballers and milkrunners.

Lots of us play the game for lots of things.  I don't mind a furball, and I don't mind defending bases.  If I know there will be a fight, I sure don't mind escorting bombers or fighter bombers.

So how do we unlump the crowd from the extremes?

And how to we integrate the community back into the game where all the styles of play can work together?

Don't think there is Dan.
There is a small group who will not tolerate any other type of play apart from what they think is right.
To do anything else results in posts on griefing, toolshedders, land grabbers etc.

What they fail to realise is that ALL the arenas are open to ALL forms of gameplay, unless of course someone can find ONE single post by HT specifying otherwise.
