While you're thinking, see if you can come up with some actual proof he lied.

Clinton?? Verified proof curtesy of the FBI forensics lab.

IIRC he was impeached but the congress declined to prosecute. I don't recall him being acquitted. I could be wrong though since the congress folded on it from lack of spine.

I believe he was acquitted by the Senate. I may have the terminology wrong but the Senate definitely let him off the hook.

Thanks to the great Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania...

so Ford was a good president?

I'd rate Ford average.  Clinton below average, but only that high for the dumb luck of being president during the right time (tech boom).  Bush Jr. gets average.

The lowest ranked presidents?  Carter, FDR, and JFK.  Lincoln did some pretty bad things, but that didn't make him a bad president.

Given the circumstances that Ford stepped into the office under, I give him high points. Not because the country suddenly became the envy of all living people, just because he was handed an impossible job and handled it well leaving the country a better place.

I think the country would have been better off if he had beaten the peanut farmer.

I went back and looked again at the impeachment situation. Yep clintoon got off when the senate caved on a slam dunk perjury case. The House did it's part.

This is so wrong, the investigation started because of the Whitewater 'scandal'. That gave the right the leverage to investigate anything and everything concerning Clinton.

Sorry flatbar but it was most definitely about sexual harrasment. Remember Paula Jones? This will refresh your memory: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/special/pjones/pjones.htm

Lying under oath about sexual harrassment or misconduct is not good but Clinton is guilty of so much worse that I really don't see how anyone can defend him.

Gingrich will throw his hat in the ring. Should there be any public debates he will come out on top.

I've been throwing Ron Paul's name out there.  for a cynical libertarian like myself I feel a twinge of hope at the thought of him as prez.
