Yamamato's body was not unrecognizable at all. In fact some of the occupants of the Admiral's bomber survived for a short while after the impact. You need to do some checking up before posting, and also don't take what you see in a game or movie as absolute truth. Fatal airplane accidents leave recognizable remains more often than not.
In one case, a Republic P-47 crashed into trees at over three hundred miles an hour and the pilot was undamaged save for his forehead, which had struck the gunsight, killing him. Had he been strapped in for landing, or had the gunsight not been installed, he would have survived.
In the case of the late Jeff Ethell, his Lockheed P-38 struck the ground in a flat spin. He survived the initial impact, but shortly died of his injuries. The F.A.A. reports are legion; a fatal crash doesn't have to be a huge, fiery explosion reducing all on board to hideously unrecognizable corpses.
It is, of course, a shame about the memorial. Oh, and to those brave enough to stick up for defenseless beasts: keep it up, ladies! Soon the world shall be safe for furry animals, totalitarian governments, and violent Muslims.
