For quite some time. I have a local collector willing to sell me either one for a pretty good price as long as I can get my parent's O.K. (which will NEVER happen

The thompson was only issued in 45acp... The 'Greaser" was issued in 45acp as well... But some conversions to (9mm Para) for the M2/3 were made... They consisted of barrel, bolt, main spring, and magazine... I think the idea was to drop them to resistance fighters in europe... the same way the brits did with the STEN... Don't know if any were ever used....

Serenity, go with the KAR. Ammo is easier to find and it's a better built rifle IMO.

Wrong, wrong and debatable. The market has been flooded with 7.62x54r, while 8mm hasn't ever really flowed heavily. While it is a fine rifle, it's tough to debate the ruggedness and pure simplicity of the Moisin Nagants.

Exactly. Ive got about 100+ 7.62x54r sitting in a desk right next to me. The ammo is there, and the price difference is obvious. $100 for the 'Nagant, $300+ for the Kar.

8mm ammo can be had for about the same price as the russian stuff if you look... it can be all had for about $70 for 800 rounds or so but at that price it is all corrosive and worthless your-0-peean primer (non reloadable) nothing wrong with that... burn it up while supplies last.

I have shot both the thompson and the grease gun and liked em both. they are night and day.

The russian ppsh is ok.

Ammo is easy to make and can be found just about anywhere.

I pick up my 91/30 at lunch today

I was really surprised how nice and balanced it felt for such an ugly rifle

Must be strong... must refrain on buying that xd-45.
