This is the main point to me -- You do what you do specifically to upset someone. Most likely, the one thing they are NOT looking for in this game is to get upset. Sure, it is only a game, and people can take it too seriously, blah blah blah . . . but even though the planes are fake, the emotions are real enough. Verbally attacking someone to the point where it gets "their blood pressure rising" is causing the same physiological and psychological response as if you confronted them on the street with a baseball bat.
Which is a long way of saying, there is no such thing as a "harmless attack" IMO. It is still an attack.
Let's put your "persona" in proper context . . . If your "banter" was uttered
at you by someone with an oREo name, how would you take it?
All of you defending SkyRock's "persona", do you equally defend an oREo when they do it? Or the old JohnnyRA or whoever else?
I don't know Mark. Neither do most AH "pilots." Therefore, neither I nor they have any context in which to "get it" that it is all an act. They only know "SkyRock." If you didn't know Mark, would you defend "SkyRock's" behavior?
Personally, I see no difference between what those "lesser knowns" do and what "SkyRock" does. But I definitely see the double-standard in the responses.
My unsolicited $0.02. Flame away.
