I own a stick you can't buy at the local Walmart, that's all you need to know.

My rudder pedals are the clutch and brake pedals from a '53 Buick, duct taped to the back of my kids Etcho-Sketch. :(

That old, huh? Atari stick maybe? ;)

Pure and straight X52 with nothing else. kevor34 has one but two of the analogs are dying. He'll be getting a PRO soon.

I still use and love:

Thustmaster F-16 FLCS, gameport-based
Thrustmaster WCS-MkII Throttle, gameport-based
CH Pedals, non-pro, gameport-based

All work just great in Windows XP and even Vista, thanks to some hacked up Vista gameport drivers.

The only real hiccup is that you need still DOS or Win98 to reprogram the sticks, but I can do that with either a boot-floppy, a boot-USB stick, my Win98 hard drive partition, or Win98 running under VMWare workstation. Even so, I haven't had to preprogram the stick in two years, when I got a Track-IR...

For more info on getting old Thrustmaster hardware working in XP and Vista, check out The Book of Thrustmaster: Windows Vista and XP Edition, which was written by yours truly.

Why not just use the software for XP from Stick Works, and the latest version of Foxy?  You can use these from XP.

You can *make* the programming with Foxy, but you can't actually *download it* into the stick from WinXP if you have the original Thrustmaster chips.

The StickWorks stuff requires the special digital chips (AKA the Bob Church chips) in order to do program downloading under XP.

I think the StickWorks chips would be a blast to work with, and I even have some TQS throttles here in order to use them should I ever encounter them, but alas, I've traveled down quite a few dead-ends trying to get a set, and have so far come up blank.

If you have a set you're willing to part with, let me know...

I see, yes I have the digital chips, but I don't want to part with them :)  It can be used with XP.  With the digital chips, it will do just about anything my Cougar can do.  I have it on one of the kids computers, but I can easily use it as a backup because my joystick programs are about the same.

Hate to resurrect a dead thread but I want to buy a new stick.  I have the best throttle of all time and do not need another (the SFS throttle and joystick however I do not use the joystick).

I am currently using the saitek av8r but it sucks donkey ......

I really liked my old ms something or other but I cannot find an equivalent anymore.

I have CH pedals I won during the 2004 AH convention but never use.

I would like a twisty stick but not a stiff little uncomfortalbe POS like the av8r.

Suggestions?
