WINXPP/DirX9.0C and ATI 7.9 drivers on ATI X1650.... Suspect load error due to D3D DIRX error on D3D test.........DIAGX - Test failed at step 8 (Creating 3D Device)

Reloaded ATI and DIRX.......

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Try reinstalling directx 9 fella......sounds like its not installed properly.......(its early, I've not had coffee yet, so I may well be off the mark, but first thing that struck me.......)(well, apart from the alarm clock as I hadnt turned it off and my wife threw it at me..lol....)

Sorry for the late reply.  Thanks for the idea, had to recover install the OS back to DIRX 8.0, then rebuild up again.  Suspect re-installing the "original" video drivers, then the latest release would have fixed it.  Anyway, on my 3rd rebuild, crashed a partion move due to a power failure.  Decided to start from scratch.  Will be back in the air soon enough.....  Since I've been off-line the wife ack has reduced, so not all is bad..........
