Information on submitting custom airfields
« on: September 25, 2007, 11:29:29 AM »
Since Skuzzy told rogerdee that we are allowed to submit custom airfields, vehicle bases, or ports I was wondering.

In order for the custom airfield/v-base/port to be approved for use what needs to be in it?

I am aware that every field needs:
Tower
Radar Bunk
Ammo Bunk
Fuel Bunk
Barracks
Hangar (Selection type)
Hangar (For airfields Ftr, Bomb, and Vehicle hangars, for v-fields and ports only Vehicle Hangars)
Runways (For airfields only)
Taxi-ways (For airfields only)
Roads consisting of the RS#### shapes (Not certain if it is required on airfields, yet I know it adds some eye candy to ports and Vehicle Bases)
Re-arm Pads (For Airfields Only)

That's all that comes to mind right now. Can someone who knows or perhaps Skuzzy fill us in on what is required in a custom airfield/v-base/port so that we can submit it for approval.

While Airfields have associated towns, VHs and Ports do not... so those will need a Maproom.

Spawns are necessary at some point, but it's still buggy to put them in with the OE.

Everything else looks about right. :)

In thread What can be (is allowed) customized for a MA terrain? there was a question and answer:

Quote
5) rearranging the object layout of the bases or strats?
No

I wonder what has changed...
IIRC, the reasoning behind this was that a casual/newbie player should be able to take-off from bases on any MA map without having to learn/re-learn the bases every time.

btw.
"French airplanes are white for a reason." ?? ...what does that mean? Some texan is arrogant for no reason? Or am I just missing the point?

Nothing has changed. You still can't rearrange the layout of the bases included in the TE and put them on an MA map.

What is being talked about is submitting new layouts to be included in the TE. Not just including them in a single map.

Lol Denholm,

That explanation doesn't even remotely make any more sense to me than the statement that "French aircraft are white for a reason" does in the first place...

Does saying, "Wave the white flag!" make sense?

Not much really, IMHO, unless there is some particular reason to bash another nation or nationality :(

Since it appears to be controversial I shall erase it.

Figured it would be an interesting joke, yet I don't care for carrying it if it's gonna cause an uproar.
