Ghastly ... the notion I had would allow whoever created the "mission" to be able to bring up the mission list and "add" or "delete" to the "mission" ... or if one created a dueling mission, they could go to the "roster" ... right-click on a name on the roster and "add to mission". That option would only be available if you created a "mission"

Either solution would take some serious programming effort on HT's part ... but either one would definately be cool.

What does altitude have to do with it ? ... you can stall fight those planes 1000 ft above ground level or 1000 ft above sea level ... the hardpan is the hardpan.

You need to figure out the difference between a "whine" and a "response". I was not whining ... I was responding to a post and then offering some suggestions on the original idea.

bah  if someone goes into the DA with the intention of ruining someone's duel with a 262 i highly doubt the the 5 min it might take to fly across the map is gonna be a deterrent.

Dedalos   i didn't feel left out. as a matter of fact i wasn't a aware you were addressing me or whatever group you stereotyped me into.

however i was referring to you when using your quote. compromise my left foot, as i highly doubt you spend your time coming up with new ideas to ensure that everyone finds enjoyment in AH every minute they play.

Been asking for some type of "duel mode" since march '06 with suggestions along the lines mentioned here.

Now that there is no HTH option, a stronger argument might be made for it.  A tool specific to the DA like this would reopen the door for inpromptu private "events" without uninvited interference.

how about a [dot] command that was only enabled in the Dueling Arena?

    .1on1 Dedalos

after doing this command only the player you type in can damage you untill that plane is destroyed.

that would ensure that you dont get picked by an uninvited geust.

Yeah, Murdr! Indeed I was hoping for private H2H rooms for subscribers when all the free multiplayer mess began. It would have been nice to be able to set up 16 players rooms with passwords... but even a customizable dueling system in DA would work great!

Bat ... how would that apply to what we had going on the other night with you, me, Wadke, Freeze, and a couple of others ?

how about then

dedalos, wadke, slapshot and 8890768 are online when batfink logs in.

so he types:

.fight dedalos
.fight wadke
.fight slapshot

to enable all three to do damage to batfink

when 8890768 tried to shoot batfink without permission....boom killshooter even for red icons :)

I see ... would be cool to do it from the "roster" with a right-click ... I'm lazy when it comes to typing ...  :D

I think it would be easier just to have a squad for the DA and make it so that only members of that squad can do damage to each other.  That way you can have up to 32 people furballing at the same time.  And if you wish to have a one on one you could form a temporary squad for just the two of you.

or even better just use the reverse, have a bullet-squelch to disable people from damaging you. a message would have to flash up telling you the person had disabled your fire, just incase anyone decided to do it during a fight. right clickable roster options are always good.

Is it possible to have some sort of a wind setting like in koth, or is it only altitude relevant.

If you fly over a sector out of your dueling area and over the water a 600mph wind drags you straight up or down.
