tigress... watches this and has not a clue as to what is going on.. she gets confused and nervous..  tries to calm it down.. tries to pretend her hero is not just a man under all the talk... what does she want?  she wants to make us stop... to act more "sensible" less like men... more like women and more into security over agression and freedom.

moray.. as usual.. is offended by what I say.. he takes it personal even tho he probly didn't understand what I said...  he starts the sex thing and then acts like a victim when it goes back at him...

In the past... it has been the same... global warming... he can't come up with a good arguement so he attacks and puffs up and claims that it is too complex for anyone not educated as he is to understand.   This is... to me...addmiting defeat.

sooo... tigress admits she doesn't understand the real man under the surface except that... she can see it happening and... well... doesn't like it... she would pass a law against it if she could... "boys... don't fight!"   that is pretty much what I am saying... that  is pretty much why voting is not a good idea.

women are always willing to trade freedom, especially personal freedom... for security and peace.

moray is just a suckbutt and background noise.. he is simply trying to smoooze the women and sound modern but under it.. he is more driven and egomaniacal than anyone.. more prone to anger.   More prone to one up..  if you have sex once a week he has it ten..  he can beat you up... he has a better education and swimming in the ocean... he knows secrets about global warming that only a man who swims and has a ten year old degree could understand.

Actually, Laz, you are grasping at straws, methinks. What ever did I say that lead you to believe I don't respect and admire men as men?

For someone who professes to understand women and then tells me I don't understand men... seems a bit of a reach, don't you think?
I mean... its not like you have overies...

I can see you are digging in your heels. You are never going to admit you are wrong. That's ok... I never expected you too. Its against your nature.

Fortunately, my right to vote is not up to you dear! :D

Your GreatGrandfather's generation saw to it that we got the vote.

I wish I could thank him! :p

Thank you GreatGrandPa Laz!!!!

I have found this thread very interesting reading. I have my own ideas about womens' sufferage and they agree in part to both sides of the argument.

I have two daughters. I was not blessed with a son but I was blessed with two wonderful daughters. Perhaps it was better that way, I don't know, there was never the bonding between father and son in my life but there was bonding between father and daughters in my life.

I always taught my daughters that they could do anything they put thier minds to.  I also taught them that there were things that boys were more physically prepared for than girls and vice versa.

Thier first car was a car I bought that needed an engine overhaul, brakes and suspension work. We all worked together on that car and when it was all put back togther they got to drive it. It was my car but they were allowed to use it provided they payed for the cost of any repairs. I taught them to drive it, it had a manual transmission. They both bought cars of their own with manual transmissions because they prefered it over automatics. No proding from me was involved.

They both joined the National Guard. Both went through basic training and both retired when they became pregnant. They did get a taste of military life though it was truncated.

They both have good heads on their shoulders. They don't necessaraly agree with me on politics but normaly vote conservative.

Women are really cool creatures. I have loved them since the day I realized there was a difference between them and me. I have always honestly felt they could do anything they wanted if they set thier minds to it within their physical limitations. Are they hardwired like Lazs says they are?  Probably, never really paid that much attention to that.

I would never want to remove from my daughters their right to vote. I believe they have the right to.  I beleive they are smart but I can see where they may vote in a manner to protect those they love.

So far they vote like I do and they do it on thier own, they don't ask me for my advice.

I work well with all my fellow employees. The fact they are male or female doesn't affect me but their ability to do the job and do it well does.  There are some females I avoid in the workplace, there are some males I avoid in the workplace. It is a matter of the individual.  Do I generalize? I've been known to and I won't go into what those were. I do try not to but I find it hard not to too many times.

My $.25 worth

Now THAT was a great input!
Mark Luper :aok

And Lazs: How about Swedish?

Hi Mark,

Thank you for your input. You are a wise man and human being. You remind me of my Father.
Like your daughters, I also drive a stick shift... always have; was taught to drive on one and prefer it.

The issue I have taken... is Laz's devaluation of Woman to that of a sub-species; good for only one thing... to be a slave for Man's personal uses only.

His expressed views are that of a Taliban tribesman and that attitude has been the cause of countless lost lives and great suffering for many centuries.

It is sociopathic and frankly, quite frightening.

I am not a slave for Man to "use" and would rather die than be treated as a such. I literally mean each and every word of that...

I admire and love Man; I do not want him to be less than he is.
Man and Woman are simply... different; thank God in His Wisdom.

What I do for a man in my life, I do for reasons of love and caring... it's not a weakness... not something to be trampled upon and exploited.

Man and Woman were meant to be a team.

For Each; The Other

Very well stated Mark,

That’s just right on.  I have three daughters, ages 2, 5 & 8.  I think that I am every bit as much an important role model and educator to them as I would have been to sons.  I’m not quite as important to them as their mother, but I’m critically important.

My wife’s father also was an important role model and educator to her.  She chose a husband as similar to her father as possible.  My father in law and I are very much alike.  Because of my father in law’s influence my wife didn’t hesitate to study architecture and work in that male dominated field.  She’s not afraid to use power tools or to drive a stick.  Her sense of values, however, has made it an easy choice to give up her career and a second income in order to raise our daughters full time.  She has more common sense, is more emotionally stable and is generally brighter than almost all men I know.

"I am of the opinion that human testostorone is the single most dangerous substance on the planet.

If it didn't cause such aggression as has lead to virtually every war ever to occur on the planet, there would be no need for an armed services in anyone's country.

Without it, we most likely would not have survived the stone age.

It's a damned if you; damned if you don't situation. It is a part of human reality.

I believe in a strong military... the reason for that is a need for security.

I don't want to make men into women. I like men... manly men. I would like to see men masters of their own testostrone... you have a brain... its about more than just being aggressive.

You were born with a heart too... its not a weakness.

Why is that a child needs both a mother and... a father?
(notice I said child... not boy or girl)

TIGERESS"

Again... proving my point.    but tigress... I have never said that I understood women... no further than the hardwired part about being willing to trade security for freedom.    I also will admit that I have never worked in an office as such.. more now than ever.. I don't want to work around women in the types of work I have done in the past...

conversly....I don't have any problem with women and office work.. I think men should not be doing it... If they are doing office work then of course... they had better get along with women.. they really are in a womans domain..  an office is nothing more than an extension of the nest.  It is why I feel shut in in them.

Like it or not... it is, and always has been, a mans world..  The power struggle and the acting against authority and yes... the crime... it is all mans domain... it is the testosterone that tigress doesn't understand.

I can see no good that has come from the blurring of the sexes.  as you treat women as equals... you see them as a weaker equal.. not as a seperate type of human.. that is a very large distinction.

If you say that they are equal fighters... you are saying that any that can't fight are inferior.. they are, after all, equals right?   many use this new PC status to... really.. abuse women.... they are equal.. we can treat em equal.

reality is..fortunately.. even the ones who espouse it really don't believe it.. the defense of tigress is... a chivilrous action by many here who really don't believe a word they are saying for instance.  I am sure that they are reading what she is saying and going "oh christ.. she doesn't even get it"

Laz,

I have never... disputed man's dominate power relative to woman.

All I have ever really said... is we are equally human.

I am not less human than you.

no you are not but you are different.. and you are different because of your gender and not some personality thing.

I love and respect women... I respect women less who deny their gender tho.   Not so much if it is some thing they want but more if it is to prove something.

Laz,

I am quoting myself here... "Man and Woman are simply... different"

We, you and I, have reached common ground.

The only thing I have ever tried to prove here is that I am human.
Not a sub-species of human.

I do not deny my gender... nor do I deny your gender.

Thus, I thank you for your love and respect; Man's love and respect  for Woman; a Human's love and respect for a Human.

Thus, you have earned my love and respect; Woman's love and respect for Man; a Human's love and respect for a Human.

It is the way God intended Humankind to be...

For Each; The Other

TBH I wouldn't have gotten it without the definition of suffrage at the beginning.  I won't claim to have the best vocabulary, but it certainly isn't lacking that much.  Kind of funny joke, but not many people know what the word means, especially younger folks.

Its like any schoolyard joke using a word that sounds dirty that isn't to make others feel dumb.  Kind of a mean joke to pull.

angus... amounts to exactly the same thing.    Focus on how man is different from woman or how woman is different from man..  works out the same.

Women are nesters.. they want security over freedom and so I simply don't want them to have any control over my life in that regard.

oh.. and moray... I don't really think you are better educated than me... just more educated.   I think that you sat through a lot of classes 10 years ago.

And that is why my wife left her save and economically stable German society to live in a hut with a less educated and economically unstable semi-rogue beef farmer in a country with a very long winter. :D
