Hate to see you go Tigeress.  I enjoy having women in the game but I can understand you leaving if you feel repressed or unwelcome. I can only imagine what it might be like to be one of a very few men in a woman dominated game. Take care and I hope you can find a game you can enjoy with people to enjoy it with.

Man up here Tigress.  Although a couple of us differed from your views the discussion w/ the players was quite civil for the most part.   The latecomers who just posted for the sake of adding fuel to the fire (where there really wasn't a fire)  are just trolling.  Are you going to let a troll like Jackal bounce you out simply because he took a couple of cheap, and very droll shots? If so, you fold tent quite easily.

We have women in the game that I don`t see having any problems at all.
It`s just hard to carry all that baggage and try to fit the Equality protest signs in the cockpit such as this one seems to be trying to do.
Funny thing is that I have never noticed her in the game at all. Must not be much turmoil and torment going on.
It`s a game. Play. Enjoy. Leave the BS out of the arena and I don`t see a prob.

You certianly hit the nail on the head... you words echo with a familarity of the words of my Father, may he rest in peace. He knew it would be tough at times, and he is right, you are too.

He used to tell me when I was afraid or had had my feelings hurt "Chin up, girl. Dust yourself off and get back in there... you can do it. I will always love you... no matter what." He has been my inspiration my entire life.

I am sure I speak for many women who have not turned bitter and not chosen to hate men when I say... we are capable of so much without turning our backs on that which we are.

Although it is true that I am envious of the ease men are accepted in certian circles without having to prove themselves and by virtue of simply being male... I am happy, I am what and who I am. I can't imagine it any other way.

I unsubbed yesterday... and yes, I cried. I am so fond of so many people here, Steve... that includes you and Lazs. And it includes Moray, and SaburoS, Mark Luper, Angus, Max, Widewing, croduh, B2B, Batfink, Agent360, Xargos, 1SADS, Skyrock, m00t, TwoDogs5, TeeArr, rgr, Hombre... the list just goes on and on.

I don't play "hardball" with men very often... if you know what I mean.

I usually loose more than I gain. Instead I try to show respect and simply try to avoid men who seem bent on wanting to create problems for me or who want me to seek life elsewhere.

And, Lazs? I sent you a PM... I did not unsub because of you dear.

I need to sort things out... I don't know about re-subbing yet... I don't even know if I  could get my call sign back... it has become part of my identity.

Don't be too hard on this Jackal1 person... I don't even know him and have nothing against him. If he wants to alienate me, that is his choice and his loss... I will respect that and avoid him. If that is the case then, please... just leave me alone and I will do the same.

While from an outside perspective it may seem that men are easily accepted in certain circles. It isnt quite as it appears.

Yes men can be initially accepted in those circles. but they still have to prove themselves and earn the respect of the others in that circle to remain accepted.

As often as not part of that accpetance is the strength of the individual. How much they can take and just have it flow off them like water off a duck.

But men being accepted in a group of men is the same as women being accepted in a group of women.
Try being the only man in a room full of women sometime and you would see its not alot different then what you are thinking.

As for quitting the game. If your quitting because you cant afford it. Arent having any fun playing. Thats one thing.

but if you are quitting because yourhaving problems with some of the players int he game. Well you can always just report it to HTC.

I think by and large most of the men in the game have probably been pretty respectful to you.
Least thats thats the attitude towards women I've seen in the game.

You have maybe 3 or 4 jerks that act like jerks. You have some that conduct in what best can be discribed as playful jibing. Which is what you will find anyplace you put men and women together.
But really nothing more then that.

Maybe your expecting everyone to act indifferent. But thats just not realistic anymore then a group of women would treat a man like a woman.

Point is. if your having fun playing the game. Then why quit?

Yup, you just witnessed me flunking the "water off the duck's back test."

It was probably more hormonal than anything else... and that is hard for me to admit.

I have seen many times when a guy or two were in the minority in a group of women. I am usually the first one to stand up for them and tell the other women to "back the hell off", out of earshot of those men.

I have been in an acclimating phase in the MAs. I was used to flying with small groups of people I know well... working as a team. This is different and seems, for a newcomer, to be... well. We have all been there when we first started in the MAs.

It isnt the money or not being fun... its finding that nitch and feeling... hummmm... well, like that old TV show Cheers... where everyone knows your name and you have that staked out bar stool with your name on it I'm not sure if I am being very clear.

I had that and lost it... working to regain it.

this is the wild west... There are a lot of us who can post here but would not be welcome on the general board..  I think that there are a lot of "men" here who are too sensitive to be here too.  they should stick with the general forum.

Thanks for the PM tigress.   I think there is plenty of room in the game for women..  I think that they are no better than men tho so far as noble reasons to play... some play for the attention.. some use their gender for advantage and attention... lots of men are attention potatos in the game too... it is the nature of the thing.  

Here tho... this is the wild west.. a place to get honest and un PC..  I honestly do not think it is a good place for women... it is more like a construction site.

Not sure that anyone acted like a jerk...  no more than usual in any case.  I think the most animosity was aimed at male posters by other male posters and it was no big deal...

I think that women tend to want to play with the boys but only want the rough stuff if they are dishing it out.. If any real equality enters the picture... they want to revert to gender special treatment.

men and women are different..  it ended like it started and everyone who tried to prove men and women aren't different ended up proving the exact opposite.
