Slybirds are more focused on their flying than reading the AH Enquirer :)

Mus51 let me know this skin was coming, so I had to stop by and check it out. I have to say it looks excellent!  Well done and I'm looking forward to flying a sortie with you in this skin Mus51 .

Hey Mus, to clarify, are you saying you got an email from HTC stating your 353rd P-51D skin has been denied because all slots for 51D skins are full?

I would've guessed they'd accept it and either replace an inferior skin, or one that is from a FG that has multiple skins represented, or that has been in game a long time.   I didn't think HTC would close the door on further skins for a plane when the 15 skin limit was reached.

this is what i got from Skuzzy:

Do not be fooled by the name.  It was not uncommon for planes in the
same squadron and flight groups to have radically different paint
schemes.

Right now, I am not aware of any duplicate skins in the P51 listings.

Hey, I found that out myself but for some reason i think we could change
a few of the duplicate skins we have (2 357th and 2 2ACG 's) if possible
Thanks for the time looking into tho Mus51

P51 skins are all full right now, but I do manage to swap in a skin
occasionally when no squads are using them.

Hmm, cool to see that they keep track of skin usage - I've always wondered about that.

Are the P-51B skins full?   Maybe you could do a 353rd P-51B.   Since there really is a 353rd FG squad in AH, it'd be nice to let them have a skin...

Thanks for the thought Oboe, but the 353rd went straight to the P-51D when they transitioned from Jugs in Sept 44.:)

Wrong Oh Shifty one! :)

There's a beautiful P51C Mustang that was a combat 353rd bird as late as May 45.  I have profiles and photos at home.  Malcom hood, 108 gallon tanks etc.  It would look great in AH.

I'll post em when I get home.  It's a beaut.  Might be a shot of it on Little Friends too.  Just checked.  Two photos of it.

Go for it Oboe! :)

Dibs on the P-51B "Lucky Leaky II" :) unless Oboe wants it.

I have also started "Dove of Peace" as Shifty and TheBug had asked I do a 51D for them but I needed to wait until a few real life things settled down after DGS.

Thanks for the thoughts guys but I'm still working on a few P-38 skins - have a few Ls to finish up -hopefully during Christmas vacation.

I would like to do a few '47 and '51 skins sometime down the road, but it'll be a while.    Please, you guys with '51 skin experience, go for it!

I think my DGS 474thFG P-38J bumped a skin out - weren't the J's slots full?   Or was there still one slot open?

Hmm,

I knew they had Bs and Cs assigned, I've never read of them flying combat, only as training and hack aircraft. I've got the printout from Little Friends  will serial numbers.

Yes Fencer We'd love to have you still do a Dove of Peace P-51D. There was also a P-47D Bubbletop Dove of Peace. We'd really love to see a razorback and bubbletop' of P-47s and P-51s if any of you skilled skinners want to do them.

Fencer has first dibs of course.  One thing I've noticed the P-47s had a black and gold diamond patteren, the P-51s a black and gold checkerboard patteren. Except for the P-47 Dove of peace which had the checkerboards like a P-51. I'll see if I can dig up the pic.

Thanks for all the info guys. Guppy, you and Oboe are okay for a couple of split tail drivers.:aok

Its having problems.  I found a P-51D for the 353rd I want to check out, but I can do it from home via books.

This was the one I was referring to Ken.  Look at the polish on that OD wing and tail.
