I have the "FighterStick" USB ... awesome stick with more than enough gadgets attached to it to get any job done.

You will not be sorry getting CH.  Got the fighter stickpro, throttle, an pedals.   Ck amazon quick delivery and some of the better prices.  May even run into open a card and get 30 bucks off first purchase.  Getting by Christmas should be no problem.  5 to 7 day free delivery or get next day shipping.  Good luck an like I said u won't be sorry.

I've always used the CH Combatstick  USB.  It's now 70 dollars US at provantage.com.  I use it with the throttle and pedals (Ch USB).

WHen you get to controlers and ch at the provantage site the Fighterstick will be listed but not the combatstick.  Do a search for the combatstick.

I bought another one yesterday.  They had only 6 of them left.

I hate to disagree with my squad mate Hajo, but the difference of +/- $15 between the Fighterstick vs Combatstick is worth the extra coinage. For one thing, you can use the extra 4-way hat switch for elevator/aileron trim...even though any CH stick has base rotary knobs for the same function. I just find it easier to apply those trims from the upper part of the joystick vs tweaking rotary dials down on the base.

as it is I ordered the Fighterstick, but I was wondering how it was loaded? Is it spring loaded or what ? I used to have an x45 and it broke fairly quickly....and it was hard to get precise movements... is the CH stick light to the touch or what ?

P.S I Also ordered the pedals and the throttle

It is spring loaded but it takes very little pressure to move off center as compared to the X45. I changed to the CH fighterstick a few weeks ago and still have a little trouble telling when I'm on center. But I don't regret the change in any way, shape or form.

Compared to the X45, you'll find the hat switch position feels unnatural and very light spring tension. You'll get use to both after a while.

Most of the people you meet in life are like slinkies. Pretty much useless, but still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

Maxie I have the prothrottle......the rotary swithches are of no use to me.

The Combat Stick is 30 dollars cheaper and has been around a lot longer then the fighter stick.  As a matter of fact the Fighterstick did not look like the Combat Stick in the past.  Within the last 2 years they modeled the Fighterstick after the Combat Stick.  The Combat Stick is a replica of the F-16s' joystick.  Thus the name F16 Combat Stick in years past.  Still the same design just one less hat switch.  When you have a throttle with 4 hat switches the extra one on the Fighterstick is not needed.

I only use the keyboard in game to chat....everything else is on the stick and the throttle.
