Guy uses a wii remote to do basic 3D vr on a TV screen. The kid was dumb as hell for giving this idea away for free. He could have made a crap load of money with it.

Anyway wouldn't this be awesome for AH2? IMO it's way better than what I've seen of TrickIR, however he did give me the answer to what I didn't like with TIR in regards to having to wear either a mic or a hat. He simply uses clear safety glasses.

I'm almost willing to bet well will se something like this designed for gaming in the near future.

Well, it works exactly the same way TrackIr does. Or FreeTrack, which doesn't even need expensive hardware like a Wii controller.

Saw a vid where a kid taped his wii remote to one of these....

and was playing Need for Speed.

Was pretty cool actually.  Looked like fun.

Yea but you don't get that full 3D feel with TrackIR do you?  In his it looks almost like the old school 3D movies where stuff is floating in front of you.

The controller is giving merely input about where you are positioned. This thing in video is using a camera and some IR leds. TrackIr (with that new clip) is doing exactly the same. The main difference is that the LED's are spaced wider apart, that should help when getting really far away from your camera. But nothing you wouldn't be able to do with FreeTrack either.



The "cool" effect seen in the film is a result of big sceen and that graphics.

I agree with what lusche is saying.

Basically if you used Trackir, with the same program that the guy in the video is using, it would do the exact same thing.  

Using the standard Trackir Pro 4.

I don't wear a hat, i clip the trackir clip to the top of my headphones.

When i want to use speakers, i clip it onto the top of the old style metal frame headphones that i had laying around.  I ripped out the actual speakers and bent the metal to fit my skull.  

You could probably use one of those upside down "U" things that girls use to hold back there hair, and just clip it onto the top of that to.

i have irtracker4 and that was actually pretty cool. My tracker gives off the same kind of effect though I use an ati 1650 card though.
