A couple of weeks ago, Wichita Falls had a bunch of freezing rain hit right at 7am. The result - 119 accidents, a bank robbery (cops all at the crashes, right?) and a fatality right outside the Sheppard AFB gate on a bridge that had a series of accidents one after another all morning. They'd clear one accident, re-open the bridge, and someone else would come sailing across the bridge and spin off into the trees or down a hill or something.
Me? I got up at 0630, looked outside, saw a couple of sprinkles on the ground. Took a shower, looked outside at around 0710 and saw my driveway getting coated with ice. I called my boss and said I'd see him around noon, and went back to bed. *duh*
As for tomorrow, the flying wing already pushed report time to no earlier than 0900 and we're told to actually consider the road conditions before hopping the car and driving into work. Something about his folks crashing and dying when we probably won't be flying anyhow puts off the wing commander I guess.
