Ok i just turned off the tracer and great my target is not obscured anymore but i thought you woudl still be able to see the trajectory of the ammo shells (ok so you not going to in real life) but with nothing to judge your shell trajectory you cant compensate very well for motion, so you either can havetracer on and see nothing of your target once you start to fire or turn it off and have to guss where to fire.

I think i stand by my origional comments, tracer is cool but far far to dence, could really do with thining out and being a hell of a lot more translucent.

 

Oh yeh and PS

Because the tracer is only 1 in 5 shots fired even with the tracer on it still dosent give you an acurate diplay of were you are fireing i.e

If you are in a tight bank trying to judge the distance ahead of the con every time you fire only 1 in 5 shots you can actually see, as opposed to every shot you can see, therefore its easer to over compensate and have to re aligne, this is why also sometimes your fire seems to be irratic and all over the place. Kinda like seeing a strip of animation but only seeing every 5th frame

There has got to be a happy medium, thos crappy red and yellow lines in WB's may be primative and not very life like but they work well.

Maybe its 'scale effect' or something, but the historical 1 in 5 mix of tracer in AH does appear a little 'overdone'.

like I sadi make the tracer count adjustable, let the person choose the tracer/round ratio.  I.e. every 15th round tracer, every 20th round...etc.

i have no problem with tracers, but then i don't hold down the trigger an spray lead all over the sky hopeing to hit something.
i fire a automatic weapon with short bursts
, just like i was taught in the marines.

trying to figure out how it got read in they didn't smoke? The thickness and consistency are just a tad off given the rest of the game...

er anyway the proportions of the smoke just aren't up to the rest of the art. The one pixel line doesn't fade off, and stays the same thickness throughout round flight even when the "streak" is a speck in the distance.

I'm sure you also noted in most gun cames you can clearly see the tracer streak at several hundred yards, but the smoke becomes so translucent through distance and shell flight that it is nearly invisible past 400 yards. Also, the ignition barrier between the white phosphorus and the propellant charge caused the most smoke initially, as it burnt off and ignited the phosphorus.

I personally would like the option to turn the stuff as it looks so much better from the CV's and fields without the pixel line.
