im pretty sure paratroopers only used the Tommygun or Grease Gun, the m-1 was to big (could get caught in static lines and took to long to put together once landed

They didn't use the M-14 in WWII.

Yes they did carry the M-1, just look at the first photo of the Paratrooper with the M-1 on his back. Watch the "Band Of Brothers" "Longest Day" or another WWII movie with Paratrooper's in it and your'll see M-1's along with Thoomsons, folding stock M-1 carbines and M-3 grease guns.

Being a Tanker starting back in 1983, we still had the M-3 Grease Gun for our weapon in our tanks up until the mid- 80's. Love the weapon, very simple to tear down and put back together after cleaning. If I remember right only about 5 to 6 parts.

But would be nice to have the troopers carry at lest a rifle

I believe Airborne used the Thompson, M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, and M-3 Grease Gun. The Thompson was bigger and more expensive to produce than the M-3 Grease Gun, and the M1 Garand was just too big and had to be put together after landing because it would get caught in the lines to easily if it was already put together before leaving the C47.

The M-1 was preferred because of the stopping power.  Tommy Gun was short range and the grease gun was worse.  M-1 Carbine also just didn't have enough pop to it.  Do a little reading on the 101st or 82nd and it's said over and over by the guys who were there.

And they probably would have taken offense at the Airborne Rangers bit as the Rangers weren't Airborne in WW2 :)

Why not troops' depicted as members' of the British Para Brigade, aka the "Red Devils"? Why not a troop of Luftwaffe Fallshcirmjeager?

You could have Soviet Para's jumping without chutes, to land in heavy snowdrifts...

Maybe because...This game isn't about whatever runs in the maproom?  :devil

Could you imagine the whines if the troops didn't have automatics?  The Enfield or the K98 have to take time to move the bolt back and  forth!  Oh the humanity! :)

But of course they either all had Sten guns or Schmeissers just like in the movies where the US troopers all had Tommy guns that hit 55 guys with a 20 round mag :)

How many troops can the C47 carry on its wings?
