I made a PT boat fly before. Got it up to about 20K.

Got me curious, the only way I imagine you'd get whacked out values like that is after crashing thru the ground, and getting one of those weird post-crash accelerations through the void.  I just tested it and the values stay "normal".  So Allen Rune might have to give some explanations..

Snip

Krusty I'd edit this post if I were you. Not trying to start anything, just... well .... you know how HTC responds to accusations like this.

well, I've never managed to go through the ground before (although I must admit that it sounds fun  :)), but I tried going supersonic in an Ar-234, 163, 262, RV-8, Typhoon, Tempest, and Spitfire XIV this morning, with standard settings, but no luck.

I had to go to school though, so I only really went up to 30k (and no I didn't get in on time... :o)

Managed to snap this just as I hit the deck, it was a P51D... and yes I used every posible setting to help :noid

So having Rosie O' Donald in the plane is a setting?

Well, I expected that I wasn't the first, but Mach 2!!??  :O :O Really!

I was under the impression that 163s weren't capable of supersonic flight...don't know why though.

Also, whenever I get very high, (at least by my standards), e.g. 60K in a 163, maybe 48K in a jug, I find that my plane seems to flop all over the place.  I think this is due to the thin air, but is there anyway to lessen the effects of this?

Anyway, I'll keep trying

P.S. do planes run out of fuel very quickly when at higher altitudes?

163 was not able, in Real life, to pass through the mack barrier without losing control over the wings.  Shock barrier built up and would tear the control surfaces off.  As well, that mach number cannot be correct, at 20K.  Mach number is calculated with temperature and humidity, neither of which are modelled, to my knowledge, in AH.

Explination: settings used: A3 air spawn, full down draft wind, fuel burn rate mult set to exactly 10000000000.0 (this screwed it up pretty bad and ended up ADDING fuel :D)

loadout: full fuel with DTs

How I did it:

First thing I did was raise gear, then went full throt, then opend e6b, watched until I got to mach .81,
then droped both tanks and turned on wep at the same time, because of the wieght this created a slingshot effect, I was shot strait up in an insain climb (after I lost quite a lot of metal) to well over 100k before I went plumenting down well past the sound barier. You have to get the timing of droping the tanks just right otherwise you just crash in midair.

I also have a film of me doing it but not from that particular pic.
