Elevator Trim - Stick Travel & Actual Travel
« on: April 09, 2008, 06:30:44 AM »
I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but I'll try to explain this using a 110-G2 as an example..

To keep level flight at high speeds I manually trim my elevators down which works well. However for some reason upon landing I decided to check the travel of the elevators.

When on the ground on external view, the elevators downward travel reaches it's limit before the stick is fully forward which is expected because of the trim.

But, here's what I'm not sure about... When pulling back on the stick the elevators sort of snap into the full up position when you come near the end of stick travel. I would assume this is in compensation for the downward trim, but I wouldn't expect the snap action.

If I remove the trim, all is correct with travel of stick vs travel of elevators.

Edited: Posted to early in morning, should have been elevators not ailerons.

Most of the people you meet in life are like slinkies. Pretty much useless, but still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.
