araiguma your porking runs have been slightly annoying but once we took enough fields on the mainland it was just too much ground to cover to keep them porked.

Had to do quite a few re supply runs to get ords back.

I would suggest you de-ack the whole base then kill troops.  Thats the only way you would prevent further advance.  Could be a costly one in terms of lives lost though....

You never know. There may be so many "Waaa I cant milk bases at 3am" threads that they turn it back on. :rock

Or not. It's been discussed. ;)

I have to hand it to the organization of the allies, especially the 353rd and the few.  Everynight when I come on (0900Z/1800I) they have been busy working down our side and rebuilding theirs. I tried to stem the flow, but it was to no avail. It doesn't take too many to make a difference.  It has been a challenge and a learning experience and despite getting pushed further and further back I don't mind giving it one more try each night.  <S>

<S> for giving it your all. AND for showing a measure a class and grace here. I'd almost given up on such. Individuals can make a difference. And you weren't even forced to. Which makes the effort genuine. <S> again.

Well I guess it is porking that I'm doing, although I don't know what else to try that will slow your advance without being called such.  I'd prefer to consider it a night bombing campaign, but justifying it to myself doesn't change an opinion.  I really enjoy the weekends when there are some numbers on and I get to participate in missions.  I think the troops barracks are immune to any size bomb or I'd have hit them first and foremost.  <S>

porking isn't a bad term it just means blowing stuff up.   "Milking" is what is referred to when no-one else is in the arena and your hitting/capturing stuff.  The guys who shy away from a fight and attack elsewhere at the slightest sight of an enemy.

I won't deny the numbers have been lopsided in the Allies favour but when there has been opposition, we have had some fun fights.  Usually resulting in the Axis getting there arses shot down by our spits then logging off.

Barracks are very easy to blow up and say you had a field totally de-acked you should be able to get the lot with a 110 cannon loadout.

It has been made harder to achieve recently by adding more of them and spreading them over the base.

Thanks for the advice, I shall try again to destroy a barracks tonight after I try and protect our one remaining Northern base by, as you say, porking everything around it :devil  I did get some minor opposition tonight, a spit flow by Gaidan (sp) who promptly shot my Stuka down <S>.

oak I think your way off the mark there.

I didn't see anything accusational in his post  "It has been a challenge and a learning experience"  I think he is trying to say he has enjoyed being on the backfoot.

We hardly porked at all we just took the dam fields.  He has been doing it throughout the last week to try and stop us.

Next war we will probably be back in the MA so I wouldnt wind them up too much if I were you  ;)

I take no offense at Oak's comments and I guess when you pick a side the skeletons come with the wardrobe.  As for fun, well I don't think many folks like to loose, it's not in our nature; but I did sign up to have fun, preferably in a group environment, following some set of guidelines that were acceptable to everyone.  I am, as I previously posted trying to defend 70.  There are currently 2 allied players on but they have not tried to stop me yet.  My post was sincere and not meant to be snide or offending, if you took it that way I appologize.

[edit] I never did manage to destroy a barracks.  My last attempt resulted in both wings being considerably shortened, a fuel leak, and a rather tedious flight back to 70 on the remaining stubs.  I ran out of gas at my dar circle and had to bail out.

I cant wait to see what happens when base capture is turned off.

I agree with TK in this one. Let's see who are the true pilots and squads after Base capture is turned off. I do not speak for my squad but I prefer dogfighting even though I know I still suck at it. For the others, they can go and bomb strats if that's what turns them on. I'll be glad to escort..... :salute

Last Friday after I was down in the FSO there were 18 Allied in the AVA vs 2 Axis. The Allieds some of which are my squadmates went straight into base capture mode. I logged off and came back later when the numbers evened out, I just can't do that crap. I've seen Axis squads doing it too.

Milk running is milk running doesn't matter what time of day or night full arena, empty arena, if you've got 2 to 1 odds and attcking bases... It's pretty much milk running no matter what side you fly on. Don't get me started on 10+ vs 1 or 2 odds. All this bragging about strategy, and acting like heros of the great war is all BS.  I look forward to the death of base capture as the way to win.

<S>

i would have to agree but to add this , i think that it is BS that the majority of Axis players bugged out for greener pastures , for whatever the real reason is ,because i sure don't believe "Ack hiding" had to do with it as i have seen plenty of that from the Axis side .And for the last 2 wars they had no problem killing AAA guns .The last 2 wars the Allied got the stuffing beat out of us ,but we did stay and support the arena a huge <S> to the Avengers and the rest who stayed and supported the arena truly they are men of a higher caliber than those that did not stay . And i for one am looking forward to the next experiment .win lose or draw i will stick it out but I will not commit to one side or the other, I will commit to keeping the odds as even as possible though.... :aok
and BTW i did enjoy the first two wars ,base capture is fun when the base is defended
and  i like biscuits    :O
