On the MINUS side, however, it makes intercepting bombers easier, while attacking Strats becomes meaningless except for the point value.

Maybe thats because the 190D9 (good chance that the model that killed you) is faster then the P51D and most alts.

Question:  If the 190D-9 was a full sector behind, how did he even see you to know to chase you down?   Even if he saw you on radar, you're saying he completed 3 sectors in the time it took you to complete 2.  Let's say you were doing 400mph, for the sake of argument, then the 190D-9 pilot had to be going 600mph to catch you.  Maybe it was a 262 made to look like a D-9?

Yes, I was flying a Dora at the time.  You slowed down, it seemed, just before you started rocketing the radar antenna.  Dora would have caught you anyway, as others have mentioned.

Instead of running why don't you try dogfighting the 190? P-51 is a match for any 190 if flown by a competent stick.

Also, a 190D will catch the P-51D, especially once the P-51 runs out of WEP.
