Total Noob question
« on: June 16, 2008, 11:30:15 AM »
I'm not proud to ask this, but I have been looking in the manual and can not find it. What is the key command to transmit with your mic?   :pray

Thanks, I was trying that yesterday and got no response.  I better check my mic settings in windows to make sure it is operating.  "T" for channel, that is the specific Vox channel you are tuned to?

Yes.  Anyone in the arena tuned to that channel will hear you.  F12 for anyone nearby regardless of what channel they are tuned to.

:lol it was. you can type your callsign in the V box to hear if you' are transmitting. That's also the "t" channel for squad or whatever channel you type in. 101 is the noob channel as I call it and alot for squads pick a channel number to type in. My squad and others use the red squad option.

Aaah, gotcha... That must be the combination that dumps you from the game or paints your plane pink or something along those lines.   And he must be the "clever" guy who suggests that in game every time someone asks a question....  Thanks for the heads up, I almost had to re-map my keys  :O

The best way to test your mic in game is to type into the text buffer .radio 5 ODBAL, hit enter then hit "T" for trasmit and speak into your mic.  It transmits to you allowing you to hear what you sound like.  When your done dont forget to reset radio 5 to 101 or whatever you choose.

Fugitive,

I hadn't even thought far enough ahead to break out my mic at that point.  I was still in the "don't spin to the ground" phase.... Which I am still in but now attempting to do it with a mic  :O

I'm really liking the fact that most all of you are trying your best to help a new player out. As i've read, OdBALL is from the old AW and deserves a little respect for asking questions in the way he does. With the exception of RIMrider and all who just laughed your doing a great job.

Odball although you have plenty of help you can PM me anytime.
