Why are the majority from the U.S. oN here?

Anyone got a theory?

I have read its about 80-90% from the US. I am not sure why. US citizens are not that big a proportion of the English Speaking world. There is UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand.

According to the US Census bureau, 301,139,907 persons reside in the United states as of July 1997. More than the rest of the English speaking world combined! Numbers matter as anyone who was defending against the Rook Hoard at A6/7/V14/P15 last night can attest.

301, 179. 947 people in US?  Ok, but how many speak English?  70%? 80%?  Gotta think about how many only speak Spanish or other languages.

Even if only 50% of the united states population spoke english, and i'm sure it's more, the usa still has 31,873,647 more english speaking people than all four combined, IF every person in those countries  spoke english.

No, 90% or better of the U.S. population still speaks English...not WELL in many cases, it is true. Just wait, we'll be down to 50% or less before too much longer.

Maybe it is those advertisements on History Channel and Millitary Channel during U.S. prime time?

And I don't know about the U.K., here in the U.S. I think we are big on aviation in general, relative to the rest of the world. Having relatively few regulations and fees involved in flying compared to many countries helps keeps the culture going. Similar to how we are on guns and hunting. What percentage of AHII players are pilots, have had some pilot training, have a pilot in the family, or are strongly considering taking flying lessons? I bet it would be a large chunk of the player base.

The US population also has a higher NET (that's after taxes for all of you in Rio Linda) income and doesn't sweat paying $15.00 (US) for an on line flight sim. I'm not being jingoistic, just stating facts.

I dont think arguments about realtive national income hold any water as in the rest of the English Speaking world the modal average tends to be higher in relation to the mean. With De valuation of the Dollar AH Costs the same as 2 large Big Mac Meals a month.

The main point is yes there are more US citizens than the rest put together but no where near in the proportions in AH.

What rings true is Advertising.

There is none in the UK for examplw which would be the next biggest market. We have the History Channell, Discovery and UK history. Lots of programmes about WW11 Hardware.

well Yarbles I think there are alot more non US,  UK/European players than you think.   They are just scattered far and wide in many different squadrons.

Thats because you don't swap country.

There were quite a few on Bish that either don't want to be part of a squad or just like playing lone wolf.  I dont hold that against them,  they miss out on the banter not me.

I was winging with one a month or so ago.  Unaffiliated I think.  I forgot his name.  Good guy.  We had fun.  Yes, there are several on the Bish side.

probably because HTC only advertises in the US and possibly Canada. Every one else finds it on the Internet.
