no gixer..  I have not told you what my opinion is about aussie land other than that you guys screwed us all when you rolled over for that UN #itch  and that you have really annoying accents.

Both of which are true and do not require an extended stay in your country to come up with.

So Rich.. you like them big cities huh?  I never been to one I liked.  Can you name a good one?

As for gun laws - I hate it to break it to Laz but you still can actually have a firearm in australia, but even little Johnny Howard and his cronies worked out that you don't need an M-4 to control rabbits.
In '96 75-85% of australians were happy with, or supported even more restrictions on firearms, and I'd very suprised if thats changed since so you don't need an Irish woman to tell you where the land lies

the grass is getting short in that paddock, better move those sheep  ;)

next to helen clark john howard was a wuss. in a 1 on 1 she would have eaten him for breakfast and farted him out at lunchtime. but at least back in those days her government still had enough decency not to play up to an ignorant majority in order to create a crocked version of democracy to strip the rights away from a minority. and apart from exposure to the media created stigma, which borders on hysteria at times, and in nz at least, the majority is ignorant. they don't own guns, don't hunt, don't participate in recreational shooting.. in short, they don't give a toss about guns, and that would make it very easy to "scare up" your 75-80%

Try...Prague  :devil
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

Are you on drugs or something?

Those comments really sum you up. To judge an entire country and it's people just because from your perspective they have annoying accents is just ridiculous and incredibly naive it's laughable.

Screwed you over??? What UN itch are you going on about? You still consider that we screwed you over when only Aus and UK have stuck beside you since Bush's invasion of Iraq? Even Bush has realised just how important those two relationships have been over the past years yet you still have the nerve to say we screwed you over??

It's really so pathetic it's not worth 2 mins of my time to even read your threads let alone reply.  Stick with gun threads. Anything else even Jerry Springer wouldn't have you.

gixer.. try to stay on topic.   I have not said anything about your country other than you rolling over like panic stricken women to that UN bs just made it that much easier for them to start on the next country to remove rights.

And..  I said that you have annoying accents.. both of those things are true... neither of them says that your entire population and your entire country sucks.  It says nothing of your beaches or outback or climate or whatever.

I will even add that it is annoying that you drive on the wrong side of the road and worse that you drive from the wrong side of a car.. your gas costs too much too and.....

from listening to you.. I would say that at least a few of you are the most thin skinned and sensitive critters on the planet.    No wonder they could work you like you were a bunch of hysterical ladies.

Stay on topic???  :rofl

You changed the topic yourself of this entire thread within the first few posts.... What started off as a light humoured thread turned into another O'Club gun discussion. You already have a sticky what more do you need?

As for the rest.... Wrong side of the road??? You must be a troll surely. Almost 25,000 posts I'd say you've perfected it.  :lol

Funny most American girls I meet would disagree.  Then again they are females.

I couldn't care less that Australia doesn't have guns. In fact, I'm glad we don't.

Our murder rate compared to yours is reason enough to support the restriction of guns.   :aok

The Australian accent is definitely very average, though. Kiwi, South African and Asian accents are considerably worse but we're not a long way behind them. I try to ditch the accent as much as I can but it's hard not to get sucked back into it when you're surrounded by Australians every day.

Lyric is right.... by all accounts the 'Aussie accent' is definitely a door (and maybe leg? :lol) opener when overseas.

heh..  "american girls" go for gangsters and convicts and deadbeats..  anything different so why not someone who they can't even understand?

as for your murder rate.. who cares?   it hasn't gotten significantly better or worse since you gave up your guns in a hysterical womanly manner.

Hahah. What makes you think your accent is any easier to understand? I can't understand a word you yanks say, sometimes. I have to ask guys to repeat themselves on range all the time.

Country with guns.... high murder rate. Country without guns..... low murder rate. Let's crunch some numbers on that, shall we? Nah, let's just get our guns instead.  :lol

I never had a gun to give up so I don't care that no one else has them.

Piss and moan all you want to Americans about your guns and who's trying to take them away from you but don't bother with Australians. The vast majority of us don't care and it is relevant to very few. You're wasting your energy pressing those keys.

Don't stress mate, it'll be quite some time before someone in your country has the testicular fortitude to take your guns away. You'll have your guns until you're too old to hold them.

Not sure what the hell Lazs is ranting about with accents, but he is displaying total bananaism on this.

I wish you guys would just forget about the gun issue though, because it is very annoying to see that the "Screw you Jack I'm alright" attitude to fellow country 'peoples' is highly prevalent in Australia.

If people would actually look at the aftermath of their knee jerking you would see that the murder rate in Australia has run at around 1.8 per 100,000 for a very long time and that that has not changed by scape goating and victimising a large minority of its citizens, it has even spiked higher at times since 1996.

The homicide by firearm rate was on a steady decline for the previous 25 years before 1996, but has definitely dropped further since the buyback, although people have just found other means of killing each other.

So as some bloke once said "Dont piss down my back and tell me its rainin".

This thread was 2 pages down the line, if you people would leave it alone it would disappear out of sight forever. When I saw it reapear it was like a zit, just has to be squeezed...
