There is only one explanation for it.

The amusement park owners KNOW that common criminals are not going to be concerned. (And of course, even a truly weaponless enviroment favors the thug, since they will be young, strong men used to fighting, and will be choosing their victims.) They have to know that this is basically disarming potential victims.

They HAVE to know that any nutcase planning on shooting the place up isn't going to be stopped either.

So the only explanation is that they are MORE afraid of CCL holders/armed citizen than either thugs or murderous nutcases. Scary, isn't it?

Or more likely lawsuit. The scenarios run like this:

A. Rampant nutcase smuggles gun in, kills 15 people. Since he violated policy by bringing the gun in, no lawsuit that will fly!

B. Rampant nutcase shoots 2 people, then takes two dead center of mass from an armed citizen's weapon. Families of the two dead patrons AND dead nutcase sue the park because they allowed guns in.

So the difference is 12 fewer stiffs  with scenario B than A. But in scenario A, the corporation is not sued, so they prefer it.

And that, gentlemen, is why their should be some CEOs swinging by the neck from the cotton-wood branches in America.

...In some ways' correct. However, The thing you forgot to mention, is that an insurance company, is what really made them put the signs' up in the first place. Or, they will cancel the amusement parks' coverage and policy.

     Now, at this point, you have to ask yourself, if the insurance company knew all of the things' you stated in your post? I'm sure they do. They spend money to try to find the best way to protect their bottom line. Or, I should say, the ratio of payable claims' to collected premiums.

In the United States, you are allowed to be racist. You are allowed to hate gays. You have the right to think or feel anything you want. Based on that, you should never be at risk of punishment for your thoughts, or at risk of further punishment because of them.

I have this image of the poor guy getting his skull cracked while the mom clutches the daughter and just shouts "Stop it! You're hurting him!". Like that's going to be real effective in a crisis situation.

The idea of having enough security in every area to be EFFECTIVE for protecting people in case of attack is impractical. Nobody is going to hire that many guards, and really, you can't blame them, considering how much it would cost. Nor is the idea nessecarily desirable IMO.

A lone un-armed guard here would have been unable or unwilling to do anything. An armed guard would have been more expensive and not much better trained than our average armed citizen.

I don't pretend to know why but it is simply a fact that one minority race commits more than half of the homicides and violent crime in this country..  I deal with the reality.   this sort of thing is a part of the "black culture" that I despise.
