I will ask you publicly, do you condone your squad taking all the TT bases?

Salute SkyRock. I did receive your PM, but decided to post my reply here, in the hope that someone new may gain something from it.
Our Squadron, the Aces & 8s, play this game because we really enjoy the challenges it presents. We grouped together as a squad because we have a similar sense of the game play offered to us and how we wish to play the game. The action here is very fluid. One minute we may be rolling bases, the next usually finds us defending one or more bases. While some of us love to furball more than GV, or GV more than bombing, we all try to play every venue the game offers. We may not now, or ever, be as good in any one particular area as some squads are, but we will try our best to get there.
Our Squad is fairly new as far as squads go. We have been together as the Aces & 8s for 2 years now. Our Membership ranges from players with less than a year in-game, to some having almost a decade logged on the boards. I myself have been here for just about 7 years. Our Squaddies backgrounds vary from the "lone wolf" player to the veterans from many great squads such as the MAW, Precision, Vipers, The Few and many more. From this broad spectrum of players, we draw on each other to better not only our game-play, but to add to the game the "Esprit De Corps" that makes each and every great squad who and what they are.
Our moto is; Teamwork, Honor and Respect. Each A8 is required to adhere to this to the best of his/her ability. Of the 3, I believe Respect to be the one trait I would like the Squad to be known for. Respect not only for our opponents, but Respect for ourselves as well. If not for the Respect issue, I would not even have replied here. I most likely would have placed the entire thread into my "mind over matter" file (I don't mind and it don't matter). BUT... the A8s have a sense of Respect for the AOM, (even BiP, salute Bro) and all of the Muppets' Squaddies. Enough Respect that I felt this thread warranted an explaination of why the A8s work and play together.
Notice that I capitalize the "R" in Respect. I believe that Respect is a pronoun. Respect is a living being that causes us to conduct ourselves in a certain manner. Respect of the ACK keeps the hard core furballer off of the opponents fields and Respect of the Tiger keeps the M3s running wide right of the base. Of all the Respect I have for this game and it's players, I have the most Respect for the Aces & 8s. They put up with my BS on a daily basis. The A8s will run my ill thought missions without reserve. Any one of them will bail out of a perked ride to run supps to anyone, anywhere, even if the recipient isn't an A8, if I just ask them to. This is the Respect that we believe binds us together and affords us the humility, in defeat, to learn to do better and try to be as good as our opponents. Opponents such as Lusche (Snailman), Bruv, Dr7, SlapShot, 999000, SkyRock and many, many others here in Aces High.
Respect for the Aces & 8s is the reason the word "condone" doesn't apply here. To infer that I would have to disregard or overlook something that is objectionable by another player or squad is not my idea of genuine Respect. I Respect the fact that they set a goal and achieved that goal, even if it was TT. If I have to condone their actions, the Respect we have for one and other, would fade fast. Our Respect for other Squads would also pale in comparison to the genuine article. Believe me when I say, the A8s have the most pristine of Respect for the Army Of Muppets as well as all of the more honorable Squadrons in Aces High.
Now let me ask you this. Which do you, as CO of the AOM, prefer? The Respect of a Squad that has the intestinal fortitude to stand by their beliefs and convictions, or that of a Squad that renders Respect as if it were the greeting of the day?

will do next time.  I was a little quick to post the thread so It could have been handled differently.

Still not backing down from my stance against griefer squads who take TT bases just to grief, though.   :devil :rock

I AM the CO of the Arabian Knights, and you have not spoken to me, it was the XO that you spoke to.

Am extremely disappointed in your post and the stance on posting.  Since this infomation is being brought to me through this board it goes along way in reaffirming to me on why this board is here and how a few like to use it as their vent and personal communication via public announcements.  I will be checking on this matter and give you the respect of an answer with a detailed finding as to what I will be doing.

For many years I have read these boards, and have posted very rarely to them myself.  A few reasons:  I have yet seen any post (other than a death in the community) that goes unscathed from those that just wanting to vie in with some sort of an attack. Secondly, it is of no surprise that there are some in the community that beleive they somewhat have such a stature that this is their board, for their use.  (This is not new as many have posted the same thoughts about it).

With that being said, if you really wanted an answer or just to complain, you should have brought it to me first.  But I see you have decided to bring things public before giving anyone the courtesy of taking any action, if required.  So your post was for?  action? answer? berating? flexing muscle?.  Action and answer would have been gotten the other way, loss of character while in the midst of playing the game is one thing, but loss of character outside the game tends to show true character makeup.

SkyRock I'm with you buddy. Guess what happened to me tonight. Had a Swampgragon call me out, so I said DA now. We went to DA, engaged him in dogfight just to look up following him was 3 of his squadmembers diving in to shot me down. 1 hit my pilot so I bailed. I have video of the engagement. Typical losers could not let their buddy get schooled for opening his piehole. Anyone wants to see video I will E-mail it to you.

Well I would only like to say. That Skyrock himself in this post said that he ups from capped bases and fights to defend them. As to his comments about our members defending a base that the enemy was trying to take we were only doing what he would have done, yet we had a whole 3 members doing it. If I lost anyone's respect because I defend my countries bases so be it. If I am suppose to stand down and allow any of our bases to be handed over for free, well I missed that memo. Frankly I have respect for many of the good sticks out there in the AH community. If they don't respect me, because I enjoy defending bases no matter where they are well I guess I don't want their respect.

As many people said over the the whole situation on 200 during the start and through to the end. Taking TT isn't honorable and all that jazz. As to that it is their opinions and they are entitled to perceive the honorable bases that can be taken how they want. To bring it out to the boards and cry about losing respect because one country took the TT island now is just a flame in my opinion because I don't see any Aces & 8's  posting this cry baby stuff on the boards when the bish take TT. We just come get our bases back. So buck up bish and fly over and take bases back. Its easier than all this typing.

I have no idea personally how I would fare with you, because we have never flown against each other that I know of. And I would never be so arogant to guarantee a victory. Im far to old and wise for that, so you will have to excuse my lack of bravado in my retort.

But really, 4K advantage.... on your 6, and you guarantee that I could not beat you even once out of 100 times???  whats next.. your dad can beat my dad up?  Here, have the milk money.. if it helps ya sleep more like a man at night, I sleep just fine.

A8HatTrick, You may find that Skyrock is a very different person in the DA.  Many people end up being friends with him after a few rounds there.  He normally doesn't go bragging about who won unless you say something first.

P.S.  Take him up on his offer, you may find it very enjoyable.

As promised, seeing how this was made public, the answer will also be made public.  This will be the close of this matter on the boards from any AK member.

First, it is mandated that no AK will be involved in partaking TT bases unless those bases were originally owed by the country we are in. Defending any base that is currently owned by our country, no matter what it's location is completely acceptable.

The incident in question had the island being owned by the rooks.  Though the base that was defended may not have been originally a rook base, it was neither taken by us or any others bases on the island.

As far as anyone crossing the line via 200, I have seen no evidence of that line being crossed.  From statements and screenshots (possible film may be available), it appears that you came on as a rook, crossed over to bish to take back the bases and did not like that these bases were being defended versus abandonded for take back.

Though I do understand your position on TT bases, our squad did not actively take those bases but did however defend a base owned by our country at that time.

As I promised, an answer woould be posted.  Anything further on this matter requiring my attention should be done privately as the AK's are officially out of this post.

Blah blah blah, I came to your boys via pm and was being nice about why they don't let the other countries fight on the island, as it has the best environment for quick tank fights and air battles, their response.........suicide defense of total control of the island.  Actually the first response I got from an AK was, "I don't like it either but the bish did it to us first".  Exactly how this crap keeps going back and forth for weeks, wahh he did to me furst mommy.  Instead of some of the bigger squads and the ones who want to act "high and mighty", taking a stand to this type of dweebery, they find excuses to allow it when at least a large portion of the community finds it of low taste.

It is these two comments I quoted that answers my question.  You have taken the side of griefers in my opinion and encourage your squad to suicidally defend TT/furball island bases that aren't needed for reset(while the whole time knits were steamrolling rook bases down south).  Also it is simply untrue that no AK's were involved in taking TT/furball island bases until all bases were in rook hands.  Nice to know that you can man up to that style of play.

Nice.  I respect that.  Might I invite you to instill in your squad a new sense of respect.  A respect for the furball place, or the GV place.  These are areas of several maps where many folks log in and want to simply tie it up rather quickly, and have a map set up for just that.  Several of the maps that are constantly in rotation these days have areas commonly know as Furball Island or Tank Town.
We don't have to agree to anyones certain style of gameplay, actually we can respect all styles with this concept.  If one wants to capture bases, simply do it at a place on the map that will not spoil 40 - 100 other players fun instantly.....just because you can.  These are concepts that great, respectful, honorable squads(like the one you just described above) should buy into.

Thak you,
SR
