Perhaps you might want to play CoD2. While this game has tanks I don't believe HTC has any intentions on making this game an all-out war from the ground aspect of WWII to the air (which we already have).

German 88 in permanent bunkers to give us a medium to high alt AA option. They could still be blown up.

Now if it can be used as AA, sure. Just not able to move around. It has to stay in-place on the field.

It would be nice to have something on the ground to hassle high bombers with.

Why would it have to stay in place? You give no reasons why..

No reason but to make it easier for programming.  Having a mid to high alt AA would really help.  I know HTC has debated about making the auto ack more lethal but this solution would be to give us differing altitude AA choices. HTC has already programmed puffy ack so the development is not that big of a leap.

I actually think adding some high alt capable soft guns woul dbe of viable use and adding the German 88mm AA gun would be a perfect fit.

Why not add in a few low alt soft guns AND a few hgh alt soft guns to each strat target (Barracks, Fuel depot, city, arty, etc)?  They wouldnt be any different than the 5in guns available to the CV fleet.  Now... with that in mind I think there may be a concensus to tweak the accuracy of those 5in guns.  If a blind man can show a deaf man how to aim and get kills with the 5in AA guns... think of what the 88mm can do.  ;)

That was a good write up.  Wonder why HTC was sold on it?

Yes!

 Bring on the 88!

That's because the American 5" guns were proximity fused. To my knowledge, the Germans never developed proximity fuses. The 88 was time-fused using a Kommandogerat optical predictor to determine the azimuth, slant range, elevation and time setting. In fact General der Flakartillerie a. D. von Renz estimated that in actuality it required 4,000 88mm shells to down one bomber. A USAAF study (trying to find it) indicated that were the Germans  to use proximity fuses, 8th AF flak losses would triple and the B-24 would be knocked out of the European war entirely.
In contrast, the American 90mm AA gun, and I believe the British 3.7in AA gun, did have proximity fuses, as well as greater range, and were much more effective. The downside being that the Allied weapons were heavier, less mobile, and produced in far fewer numbers than the Flak 88.
