Schools around here frown on axes in class too.

shamus

But they have hammers, saws, screwdrivers, etc. in thier shop classes [if they have them]. However I find it funny that they ban pocket knives from school but a sharpened pencil can be just as deadly.

Lets see, I live 20 miles from austin in a town w/ 50,000+ people in it. 2,000 people go to my school. A lil slap fight between 2 wussies once a month is about all that happens. I've only seen in 3 serious fights and I was in 1 myself, people here are all talk.

Oh well then........if you live near Austin then we know nothing like what is being discussed can ever happen at a school......right?
The name Charles Whitman ring a bell with you?
Let me refresh your memory.

"Charles Joseph Whitman (June 24, 1941 – August 1, 1966) was a student at the University of Texas at Austin who killed 14 people and wounded 31 others as part of a shooting rampage from the observation deck of the University's 32-story administrative building on August 1, 1966. He did this shortly after murdering his wife and mother. He was eventually shot and killed by Austin police."

BTW......he was brought down eventually with the help of armed citizens.
How soon some seem to forget.
Democracy is two wolves deciding on what to eat. Freedom is a well armed sheep protesting the vote.

Jackal, the one thing he doesn't say is that when he went to school they had discipline. When they got rid of spankings in school the kids have started running the schools. Thats a big part of the problem with todays youth.

and thats sad thing. The government says parents are responsible for thier kids actions and they won't let the parents be a parent.
