japanese type 97 chassis officially called
type 3 CHI NU medium tank ( a type 97 with a bigger gun )
the gun was a modified field gun 75mm
which was originally a french design

You know that just because it's name may not be anywhere close to 'T72' doesn't mean it's not a variant or foreign copy of a T72 right? Because that definitely looks like a variant of foreign copy of the T72.

Yes, it is. Even someone like me who is not familiar with modern armor can clearly see that.
BTW, the image seems to be named after where it is in the webpage or something because my search for 'P108 2L' didn't turn anything up. So, what is it?
