The 17-year-old daughter of Gov. Sarah Palin is pregnant, according to a statement released today by the Palin and her husband.

"Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family. We ask the media to respect our daughter and Levi's privacy as has always been the tradition of children of candidates," the Palin family statement concluded.

I agree, shes too old for this to be a "scandal". If she was like 13 years old then it would be a scandal. I lolled tough, imho this is a clear case where an abortion would have been valid.

It would be nice to leave the children out of this.  Nothing like being 17 years old and having the entire fugging country know you're pregnant.

Granted, the McCain campaign released the info, but it's a shame they felt they had to do that.

Doesn't really matter if she was doing drugs, got pregnant, was a lesbian or whatever.  She's still technically/legally a minor and her life should be protected from the spotlight.
