What's the deal here? Also, her stance on teaching creation theory alongside evolution...why be so critical about that? Would they attack a man with 5 kids the same way?
It's a big deal because it's the same as teaching the tooth fairy is responsible for leaving a dollar under your pillow in school. There is no scientific facts behind creationism, it's a religious belief that has no business in a public school system. On top of that it puts one small part of a specific religion ahead of all others.
Are you going to agree with having your kids sit through the teaching of the Koran? Scientology? Buddhism? What about the various American Indian religious beliefs? If they want to go over the "theory" of creationism is social studies as part a course then it's not that big of a deal assuming they give the other popular religions their fair time as well.
However trying to teach it as scientific fact is ludicrous because it's nothing more than a part of a religious belief. In short if you want bible study for your kids then go to church because that's where it belongs.
As for the media in the feeding frenzy over Palin.. well that's exactly what is going to happen when he picks some unknown that for the most part no one has heard of. It's the media's job to then start digging if they found nothing wrong right away then it would have likely just been a frenzy over "who is the woman".
However every time you turn around there is more dirt under the rug, so that causes the frenzy to keep growing and looking deeper..Because McCain didn't properly vet her.. the media is now doing it for him.
