Palin's Speech Perfect - Teleprompter Porked
« on: September 06, 2008, 08:50:16 PM »
There are a number of reports that say that Palin's teleprompter rolled ahead halfway through her speech but she didn't miss a beat.  The Democrats are saying that the Republicans are making it up so that her perfectly delivered speech will appear even better...  Some say that they could see it working perfectly on TV a the few times that it was visible.  At least one on scene reporter saw it out of sync though.

I think the ability of being able to deliver a good speech is way overrated compared to all of the tasks and abilities that presidents and VPs must be good at.  Whether it matters or not, Palin has great presentation skills, even under huge pressure.

"Halfway through Sarah Palin's speech tonight at the RNC, people following the speech noticed she was deviating from the prepared text.

According to sources close to the McCain campaign, the teleprompter continued scrolling during applause breaks. As a result, half way through the speech, the speech had scrolled significantly from where Governor Palin was in the speech. The malfunction also occurred during Rudy Giuliani's speech, explaining his significant deviations from his speech.

Unfazed, Governor Palin continued, from memory, to deliver her speech without the teleprompter cued to the appropriate point in her speech.

Contrast this to Barack Obama who, when last his teleprompter malfunctioned, was left stuttering before a crowd unable to advance his speech until the problem was resolved.

    Sarah Palin. Winner."

For comparison, watch how Obama handles a broken teleprompter:

McCain can't deliver a speech nearly as well as Obama, but his new sidekick sure gives Obama a run for his money...

Before you get all excited realize there is contradictory information on just how well the teleprompter worked. Some reports say it was only a line or two off schedule.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

If McCain and Palin played thier cards right, they should challenge Bama and Biden to a Town hall debate.

What happened to both her and Rudy is that prompter didn't pause during applause pauses, and it went on by, making it useless. Had she not been able to deal with that, her career would have ended before it started...as for Barack, the only place that would be discussed is places like here

I recently saw YoBama get caught off guard by the media.
It was "Ummmmmm....Awwww....Um.....Aw wwwhhh".
I think they cut it short due to an emergency Depends change.

geeze.. osambama is even more of a bumbling idiot than I had thought based on how he handled his teleprompter being broken.

The guy is nothing but a voice and a suit.

 :aok

Truer words never rang so true.   :D

The bottom line is this, some people are able to embrace Public Speaking without the use of teleprompters.   He is a total tool for stuttering like that.   It's a shame the moron didn't write his own speech and remember it, instead someone wrote it for him and you get what you have in the clip.
