Lance is returning

Quote
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Lance Armstrong is ready to swear off the chips and salsa, climb back on the bike and win an eighth Tour de France. Three years after retiring, the 36-year-old says he'll return to competition and the Tour de France in 2009, giving up relaxed days of a few beers and Tex-Mex food for a self-described monk's life of disciplined training and punishing races.

In a formal statement Armstrong called his comeback an attempt to raise global awareness in his fight against cancer. Just as likely, it's also about his relentless desire to compete and win, especially at the Tour, the race he dominated with a record seven titles from 1999-2005.

And Bulgaria loses in a squeaker

BRATISLAVA, Slovakia (AP) — With more goals than minutes in the game, Slovakia's women's ice hockey team claimed an amazing 82-0 victory over Bulgaria in Olympic qualifying.

Slovakia outshot the Bulgarians 139-0 during the 60-minute game, played in Latvia. The margin of victory is a record for a women's International Ice Hockey Federation-sanctioned event.

"We took it as training," Slovakia coach Miroslav Karafiat said after Saturday's game.

Janka Culikova led Slovakia with 10 goals, while Martina Velickova scored nine. Fourteen different players scored at least one goal.

Slovakia, which also beat Croatia, Latvia and Italy, advanced to another qualifying group with Germany, Kazakhstan and France. The winner will secure a spot at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.

Bulgaria was eliminated after scoring one goal and giving up conceding 192 in the tournament.

The Slovakian men's team clinched its biggest ever victory against the Bulgarians 14 years ago when they won 20-0.

So if he comes back he's pulling a Favre...

But what if he comes back, retires again, and then comes back again?  Would that be a Jordan? Or does he need to play baseball in the middle there somewhere?

I think he's more like pulling a Jordan then a Farve, Jordan should have gone out at the top of his game winning his 6th NBA title, scoring an amazing shot to win the last game, instead he came back one to many times and played for the Wizards.

As for that Hockey team that's just incredible.
