HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN
By Darryl Worley
(Video: http://www.videocure.com/music-video-code/d/0fb25f8124f3b731be45665af4b7f9b5.html)

VERSE 1:
I hear people saying…we don’t need this war…
But I say there’s some things worth fightin’ for…
What about our freedom…and this piece of ground…
We didn’t get to keep ‘em …from backin’ down….

They say we don’t realize the mess we’re getting in…
Before you start your preachin’…let me ask you this my friend….

CHORUS:
Have you forgotten…how it felt that day…
To see your homeland under fire…and her people blown away…
Have you forgotten…when those towers fell…
We had neighbors still inside…goin’ thru a living hell….
And you say we shouldn’t worry ‘bout Bin Laden…
Have you forgotten?

VERSE 2:
They took all the footage…off my TV…
Said it’s too disturbing…for you and me…….
It’ll just breed anger…that’s what the experts say…
If it was up to me I’d show it every day….

Some say this country’s out lookin’ for a fight…
After 9-11…I’d have to say that’s right….

(CHORUS)   …and we vowed to get the one’s behind Bin Laden…

Bridge:
I’ve been there with the soldiers…who’ve gone away to war….
And you can bet that they remember…just what they’re fighting for….

CHORUS:
Have you forgotten….all the people killed…
Yes some went down like heroes…in that Pennsylvania field…
Have you forgotten…about our Pentagon…
All the loved ones that we lost…and those left to carry on…
Don’t you tell me not to worry ‘bout Bin Laden….
Have you forgotten…

For me this newsflash of Palestinians celebrating 911 was the most outrageous in that day:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rmo64fcvKs0

And now:
"President Bush has proposed a sixfold increase in aid to the Palestinians, including $150 million in direct cash transfers to the Palestinian Authority, in an effort to bolster the government in advance of a Middle East peace conference planned for later this month in Annapolis.
The $435 million in additional aid, on top of $77 million requested earlier this year, has attracted little notice..."

To this day, I turn off any show that has footage of it.  It pisses me off, and haunts me at the same time.

I get about two minutes into this video and I want blood...Radical Muslim blood.

Did it bother you when the Republican convention used footage of it, the most graphic footage of the explosions, stuff that the networks had agreed to now "leave in the can"?

Did you find it base and callow and did you turn the convention off?

Obama and McCain both have agreed that today is NOT a day to be discussing politics. How about you show some respect and do the same. Leave the politics out of this thread please.

MSNBC?!?!?!?   I guess they are ignoring Olbermann's concerns about airing that footage.  I wonder if he will be issuing a public statement to distance himself from the network.

The news readers are loving this, they use it as filler for their pathetic shows.

Let us remember them, the responders, the public servants, and those who worked tireless hours afterwards.

Yes, the political views need to go elsewhere.
