Patches
« on: September 12, 2008, 01:48:26 AM »
Alright, the patch-site-thing says that patches are done through a donation system. Well, I would LOVE to donate bags full of money to you all for all the work you do, but sadly, I am a starving student pilot with no job :(

So how much is considered a "good" ammount to donate?

Well Id feel quite remiss if I didn't give at LEAST $5. I know you all put a lot of work into this. I should have a donation in this weekend!

The donations are taken before the patches are run. Once the donations reach the pre-set limit, the patches are ordered. So basically they're already paid for. However, the NEXT patch run (not yet discussed) will probably be accepting donations.

The next patch run will be Rangoon, '42 (2008) with a design like the previous one:

I must say...wow, nice work on those patches.

Just out of interest, what would be the cost of 1 patch to be send overseas (europe).
I would like to order one aswell, but I dont feel comfortable of simply asking for one, without ever having 'chipped in'?

I'm trying to decide whether I will put my patches on my cheap OD jacket (It looks a LOT like an old WWII service coat), to put them on the old Bomber Jacket (Brown Leather) my grandpa gave me (one of the two he wore during flight training before the war) or my new black U.S. Air Force jacket...

I went for the back of my A2.

I'm not sure I'd have the guts to put them on something irreplaceable like your gramps' jacket.  I think I'd go for using one of the other two.

As I said, he had two and gave me both. One (the one he used on his solo and all flights after) is in perfect condition and will stay that way. The other is rather beat up. Im thinking of cleaning up that one and putting it there. But I agree, I would hesitate to put anything permanent on it without thinking about it MUCH more.
