I think the "key" words in your statement are "well flown".

I never said that an A-20 or A-26 would win every encounter that occured, and I don't think anyone else has either.

But that said, both of those planes should be approached with caution.
I feel noobish, i got shot to hell by an A-20 when i was flying my super uber B-17G.  :(

As with any plane, in the right hands the A-26 would be extremely dangerous.

In a book I have (no, I don't know how accurate it is, but it looks quite reliable), they have a quote from an A-26 pilot where he says that the A-26 could turn with a Bf-109 (I don't know which version) under certain air conditions.

Oh, and if it's between bumping an old thread and starting a new A-26 thread, I actually prefer the former.

To be honest, I've almost bumped this one several times, but in the end I couldn't be bothered :P  Also, I support this bump, because any other wish for the A-26 will contain pretty much the same material.

Just think. If there was a perk price to bombers then we'd actually have people who would try and land them. :lol JU-88, a bomber far more capable then the 111, 365/k to 3172/D for a LW k/d of 0.12% . KI-67 a k/d of 0.22 " I always got 2 to 5 kills in them when I flew them". B-25C 0.12. I could go on.

Ive sat there in flak watching clouds of use once and throw away bombers falling from the sky. So why introduce a LW perked uber ride, and the excitement behind it, when you can bring in more k/d machines of 0.12 ?

The Historian in me understands the calls for the 111s and the Bettys and their presence, which was huge in the war. The gamer in me calls for a plane people would actually fly. I guess a happy medium would be the TU-2. :D

Tough call. I understand both sides of the arguement.

For me, a big part of the frustration is that we just ran the BoB without the He 111 again in FSO.  We can't even do a proper Russian front setup with all of the fighter and bomber aircraft we're missing.  Lastly, if it weren't for FSO, a large number of people would quit the game outright after a year or so of the main arenas, myself included.  On the other hand, the aircraft requirements for a playable main arena were met a long time ago.

I think that upper gunner could outturn most fiters in ww2  :D.  btw that website is gone. now there's only a bunch of ads.
