Have any of y'all used Rosetta Stone for learning a new language? I am completely 100% impressed with this program.  It's fantastic. I've used some other photo-based programs for different languages, and even those don't compare to Rosetta Stone.

 Ive been thinking about getting this. Ive always wanted to learn German. I took french in school, but have forgotten most of it. La fille, le garcon. Thats about it :P

One of the other programs I had (german) was also a photo-based program... but ran more like a game-show quiz.  It was okay... but not terrific. Go for it filtH! About the only thing I remember from my french class is: un, deaux, trois

I just got a copy of it.  I think it is wonderful... Grated I only did one lesson so far but it really sticks in my head.  I give it a 9/10

It's very good but expensive.  I purchased the Polish program and it's one of two in the series.  Some languages have a basic, intermediate, and advanced learning programs.  My only suggestion is to stick with it.  It takes alot of time and dedication.  That's my only fault.  It's fun to learn in the beginning, but you have to make the time to practice.  Also, having somebody that actually speaks the language that you can converse with is an added bonus.  

I found a used program on Ebay.

Dang it ~ good idea on Ebay.  I'm installing this same program on all the computers in our house ~ and making all of my kids learn it with me, so we'll have one another to talk to.  :D  They're interested for now ~ we'll see how that keeps up once it gets more intricate.  Good thing is that they're all boys ~ they'll try to one-up each other to learn it faster than the other two.  :aok  Nice to be able to use that competition thing.
