That's kind of neat.

Be careful of how much "realism" you ask for though.  The zeek, if I remember correctly, also had the trigger for the guns on the throttle instead of the stick.  Who really wants that?   :)

What I want to know is why there is a single 7.7mm MG and a single 13.2mm MG in the A6M5b and not two MG of the same caliber?  Talk about a logistics nightmare.  Why not like the A6M2?

yaknow,....funny you should mention that........

i had seen that on one of the aircombat showdown shows......while they were being informative.

i do notice that when i squeeze the trigger ingame, i do sometimes move the stick.
if i knew how to make a second setup, without losing the setup i have now, i would actually consider trying to put my trigger to one of the buttons on my throttle.

seriously though, i onl brought the fire extinguisher up because if someone goes past me shooting, it seems that the muzzle flash from his guns sets my tanks off. :rofl :rofl

We already have it, which is why a Zeke will burn longer than any other fighter (IMHO) once you light it.  :devil

A6M5a had two 7.7mm guns in the cowl.  The 13.2mm was an attempt to boost firepower.  A6M5c had two 13.2mm guns in the wings, but I don't recall if they omitted the cowl guns or just omitted the 7.7mm or boosted the 7.7mm to a 13.2mm.

they burn long when someone else is flying them. i've been within a mile or two of base, when ignited, exited the fight immediatly, and not made it back..... :rofl :rofl

IIRC, they only added the 2 13.2 in the wings, leaving the MGs in the cowling as they were, 1 7.7, 1 13.2

EDIT: Strike that, I just checked, A6M5, model 52c, had 3 13.2mm and no 7.7.

excuse me, I don' have exactry information fo this question.

but, I can consider.
type 3 13.2mm machine gun had promlem of supply .

If you have chance, you can find picture of A6M5c don't have 2x13.2mm.
(A6M5c armament is 20mm x2 and 13.2mm x 2)
this was by type 3's promlem of supply, this machine gun was not product enough numbers for A6M by low Japanese industry.

of cource , Japanese Navy wished to attach new 2x13.2mm to A6M5.
but I consider, it was impossible A6M5 get 13.2mm x2 by this problem.

and Ki43-I had same problem.
all prodact type Ki43-I had type 89 machine gun x1(7.7m) and Ho-103x1(12.8mm) on its nose.
this was by suply problem of Ho-103, and Ki43-II had 2 Ho103 why this problem was solved.

Maybe they mean by CO2 extinguisher an arrangement where exhaust gases are lead into fuel tanks so that vapours do not explode if a fuel tank is hit? Does not prevent fires caused by leaking fuel tanks though.

CO2 WOULd starve the fire thus extinguishing it. no exhaust gases.
