Panel Lights
« on: November 03, 2008, 01:37:01 AM »
That's my wish.  Very simply put, I would like the option of turning my own panel lights on when it gets dusk outside.  Example  'SHIFT+L=LIGHTS'

Have a nice day...

Why considering it never gets dark enough to even need them. It would be useless and take Hitech away from other projects.

There have been multiple SEA events that have been run at night just in the last month.

It may not get used in the MA but it would be used none the less.

Depending on the aircraft they may not actually be lights.

Case in point the F4U: the two lamps inside the cockpit were actually blacklights, designed to cause the paint on the instruments to floresce. This made them readable in the dark without hampering night vision.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

Only the night fighters Saxman. I have seen a museum F4U cockpit and the lamps in it had a red lense that could slide in over the bulb and protect night vision that way but it wasnt black light. I have one out of a P51 that I bought at a flea market (cant even be sure it is from a P51 except it looks like it is) and its the same deal.
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

I didn't know that Saxman, but it makes good sense.  I guess they wouldn't have wanted the whole cockpit lit up at night.  I use the same idea for my keyboard.  I have a black light sitting over it.  Works pretty good.

i would NEVER use that it would give the enemy a clear view of your cockpit and give you a pilot wound a lot easier

That's just to funny right there. But its usually the floor around the computer area and the chair as well that you don't want the black light to shine on.

Adjust your gamma settings.  It doesn't get that dark to where you would even need panel lights.
