Open a book and read. You'll be amazed at the stuff out there to be learned.
Romania, Hungaria, Greece, Poland, Norway, Finland, China, Brazil, and a whole host of others played a much bigger part than what most people think.
Heck, just reading up on the British Commonwealth and learning what they all contributed is a lengthy read in itself.
