Tiger Speculations
« on: December 17, 2008, 01:32:19 PM »
There has been an announcement that at 4pm EST there will be a Tiger Woods news conference/announcement. Okay so who wants to speculate?

A) He fires Williams
B) He announces he is leaving golf
C) He announces his injury is worse then believed
D) He announces he is really an alien from the planet Krypton
E) He announces he is seeking rehab for drug use
F) None of the above (something new)

Hopefully he fires Williams, I will be beside myself if Tiger can't or doesn't play Golf this year. I wouldn't doubt the alien thing though.

Most likely A, although I would congratulate him for B. In my opinion it would be one of his better decisions.

Just curious how Tiger leaving Golf during his prime would be one of his better decisions?

I dislike him for his unsportsmanlike temper-tantrums on the field when he doesn't get what he's after (occasional, yet still happens). Therefore I'd rather not see him back on the field.

It looks like its (F) a non-story conference.

Denholm there have been a few times I have seen him say/do things I didnt agree with but he is still young.

If Tiger retired from golf now the PGA would suffer dramatically. The turnouts at all the tournaments would drop and interest would wane.

I am curious, if Tigers behavior annoys you (unsportsmanlike temper tantrums?) then you must not watch any professional, or even college sports.  You must factor into that equation that Tiger is on camera 100% of the time he is on a golf course, and probably 95% of the time he is outside his home.  If this was the case for you, would you be able to live up to these high standards?  I think it is ridiculous to point a finger at tigers behavior as a reason not to want to watch him given these factors.  Maybe you are sick of him winning all the time, or maybe there are other reasons, but for a guy who can not step onto a golf course without a gallery of thousands and hundreds of cameras shadowing his every move I would say he conducts himself as well as anyone in the public eye.

Not pointing any fingers, you asked, I told you. This is why I said, "in my opinion."

Fair enough  :aok  Also, I meant singling out behavior as a reason to dislike Tiger.  Given his talent, status, and wealth the guy could, if he wanted too, be the biggest pr*ck in the world, which he is not.

I had a job working at a golf course once.  Tiger's temper is quite tame IMHO.  We had members who we always avoided by at least 300 meters on the last few holes so as to not draw unnecessary golf ball flak.
