Good modern air combat game?
« on: December 29, 2008, 04:38:11 PM »
I got a new rig for x-mas with much better hardware than my old rig. Best part is that I have them both hooked up to each other with one set of keyboard and screen via a KVM switch. Now that I can run AH with NO lag (no more losing on-the-deck fights because of a lag spike!! :D) and even run World In Conflict PERFECTLY, I'm looking for a good modern jet combat game, preferably with multiplayer support, and preferably a lower learning curve and time investment than Falcon 4. If all I can find is Falcon 4 then I'm just gonna give up on trying to find one.

LOMAC is IMHO terrible. Falcon 4 is probably the best you will get. I'm not much into these types of games, though.

Damn. Not a lot of options there. I guess it's back to buying RTS games for me for a while. Although I rather suck at those... Maybe some FPS games.. No, still suck. I'll figure something out eventually.

I think Widewing posted pics of a Vietnam era sim som while back, and that looked good. Maybe he'll pop in and give some info.
Anyway, - with a grain of salt. Screenshots were nice, I remember.
Falcon looks good, but complicated. Sad really, I used to have fun with these sims years ago.
Too lazy and old for school I guess.....
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)
