As a Greek you can fly Pegasus, or imitate Icarus, or steal Apollo's chariot like Phaeton---plenty of options, Yasu!

Too bad the US didn't have the wisdom and foresight to try and build planes that worked, i.e., we should have tried to build Spitfires under license starting in 1939 or 1940. Imagine id all of our clunker P-39s and p-40s had been Spits.

That leaves my Canuck self with... a maple leaf?
Bah. Americans needed the Spitfires for a good amount of time in the war as defence (and sometimes offense) fighters. 52nd, and 31st FG anyone? The US obviously hasn't really showed the Yanks much about the efforts of that group.. and a few others in the ETO prior to the North African and Italian campaigns.

I think you need to get a sense of humour stroker. I was poking fun at Uptown's "idea", not insulting Americans in any way. Note the smiley at the end of my post.

According to well informed chat on 200 last night, the Russians won the war. And it must be true because the BBC said so.

Now then, under the new 'only fly the planes of your country' rule, what do you get if you're a Brit living in the colonies?

S'pose I could up a Boston. Or maybe someone will lend-lease me a destroyer if they have one spare. Been telling the missus I want a boat for ages now.

Being the gentleman I am, I can not allow you to be at such a disadvantage. The P51 is a complicated, technical aircraft the should be flown with the utmost caution and skill, which the British just don't have at this point and time. But I will accept your challenge, my fine sir. But you have to allow me to fly a less capable aircraft. Say a C47?  :D

The current form book for this P51D matchup would suggest myself as a short favourite.

All kills in Pony D since we both started playing  (thanks Spatula  :aok)

Uptown      Kills  2206  Deaths 1252   K/D 1.76
Bruv119     Kills  2459   Deaths 171     K/D 14.30

We have to duke this out uptown I can't have people making fun of Her Majesty's subjects when it comes down to P51 flying,  I love that plane and if I win you have to fly Spitfires for a whole month.   :D
