Yes but I find it fun to play for.  It gives me some objectives when I log on.  Now instead, getting in all these planes is my objective when I log on.  If I didn't have something to play for I'd probably not be playing.

Flying non-uber rides is way more fun than just flying spit16/p51 because everyone else seems to.  Sure, you're disadvantaged but it makes the kills seem worthwhile.
I'm at a disadvantage no matter what i fly.  :rolleyes:   This tour, i'm trying to get double digit kill #s in as many different models as possible (ENY 10 and up).

Get some friends in here jeeez.

The enjoyment of flying WW2 aircraft should be enough to keep you wanting to play.  Friends just add to the fun  :aok

besides views and range, exactly what is uber about the p51?

 BaldEagl its funny you should write about the P-40 E's 50 Cal's because I have felt the same way . I know they are the same as the other planes with 50's but it seems as if the punch is just not there . I do have fun in it though from time to time , and in a furball you can sure surprise people in it . But it sounds as if your having a good time and that is what this game is all about .

Still addicted to my A6M5b since near when I started. Not the worst plane, not the best either, but in the end it's a plane that doesn't let you run and your stuck for the bashing or a well-earned victory.

The P-40's 50 cals perform exactly the same as every other american bird with 50's.  What's different is the P-40 generally flies at a slower speed, and hence when the rouds hit they have less kinetic energy than the faster american 50 cal armed birds, and do a little less damage per round. The guns are fine, either saddle up better or work on your aim.

It's not easy to be good in but with speed you can engage or disengage at will.  It is a popular bnz/runner but a talented flyer makes it pretty devastating.
The 51 seems to be all you fly and you do ok in it  ;). Do you think you could post similar numbers in say an F4U-1? Same gun package. Better slow speed handling. Similar high speed maneuverability but lower top speed. I'm sure you do a lot more than bnz but the speed of the 51 is a great weapon. Probably why most of the perk planes are the fastest planes in the game. I don't think it is uber like the easy-mode spit16, but it is clearly in the upper echelon. When comparing it to the P-47n and Ta-152, I would have the 51 at 5 ENY (partly because of the numbers flown) and make the other two 10 ENY.

Assuming what you're saying is true, and the P-40's are fighting at say, 50 mph slower than their contemporaries (although I doubt it's appreciably slower in a fight than an F4F, or even an F6F for that matter) that's only about a 5% difference in kinetic energy. I honestly doubt any of us could perceive the reduction in lethality.
