It's been a great discussion!
A thought:
Anyone from Chicago (ORD)? Cuns or White Sox fan?
Some stats:
Cubs stadium seats approx 47k
Sox stadium seats approx 40k (down from 47k when it was built)
Average attendence:
Cubs 39.5k 96.1%
Sox 25.6 63.0%
I wonder if the season ticket holders for the Cubs are told to go over to watch the Sox because they are full?
I wonder how many would actually go?
Club owners build to meet the needs of the fans. If they cannot build because of location (lack of property limitation given the city) then that's it.
Who does the fans prefer? Cubs. Is there a reason? Does there need to be? The fact is they do.
Also ran? Sox.
Look at AH2.
The reasons for capping have been stated.
Arena can hold up to 1000 without changing software but won't happen. ok, owners perogative.
Optimal # of players in for most people to have fun, somewhere between 1-500? Ok, WHy?
Coms on 200/country unreadable? Persoanlly I never had that problem. Thought the software could handle up to 1000?
Not sure about why the less noticed and anonymity. Everytime someone lands X # of kills they get noticed.
Herding/hording? That goes on every day. Also means more targets available.
Without quoting...it's been noted the Blue arena has NEVER had more peope than in the Orange arena. Those are facts...Overflow? Fall out? The real question is....DOES HERE HAVE TO BE A REASON they go to Orange?
Again without quoting...it's been noted people try to disquise their desire for 1 arena. It would appear that anyone who has read this topic from start to finish knows, without a doubt, who has a desire for 1 arena or not.
If you look at the posts here, there are many older players that ar expressing their concerns.
Look back at the Club owners. They are providing a fan with a place to go. They do not decide for the fan that they need to go to the Sox game. They build/rebuild to allow the fans to come to the game and watch the Cubs. Somehow this sounds like they are giving the fans what they want AND asked or...a place to go watch their team play.
Oldman...pac arena? depends on which game you're talking aout....Mac AW, Dos AW, PC versions, AOHL Mac or PC AW?
In fact, if one looked back at those days the destruction of early AW appears to have been a result of some folks asking for smaller arenas, not larger ones. I think EA bought AW to get rid of a competitor. If you look at AH the big difference was HTC could handle more traffic. As such, many people migrated to the game. In fact, approx 72 players (prev and current) from our squad signed up en masse and got back up flying. We were just one squad. Many folks came to play. Many are still here. Many even contribute daily in all aspects of the game.
The game continues, even during a time when people are out of work.
It's already been said by the powers that be...there will not be one arena. I don't think anyone ever asked for that. Just don't limit one arena and when you think about it, arbitrarily toss people into another arena.
If the software can do what it needs to do then why not? I guess it's just something personal that no one will ever understand. Hopefully, all will survive.
